CALL FOR PAPERS
A SPECIAL ISSUE on
"SECURITY IN AD HOC AND SENSOR NETWORKS"
Ad Hoc Networks (Elsevier) Journal
http://www.elsevier.com/locate/adhoc/
Guest editors: Jelena Misic, University of Manitoba Mukesh Singhal, University of Kentucky
There is an increasing demand of measures to guarantee the confidentiality, integrity, of transmitted data as well to ensure availibility of ad hoc and sensor networks all the time. Ad Hoc networks are characterized with power-efficient protocols with cross-layer interactions where sensor networks are even more restricted with the requirement for the simplicty and power efficiency of hardware and protocol design which require stronger interactions among the protocol layers. It is therefore, necessary to evaluate security of ad-hoc and sensor networks and come up with efficient tradeoffs between design complexity, power efficiency and security aspects.
The main purpose of this Special Issue is to promote further research interests and activities on security in ad hoc and sensor networks. We are interested in analytical, experimental, and systems-related papers in all aspects of ad hoc and sensor networks security. The topics of interest include (but are not limited to):
1) Authenication and authorization 2) Key distribution and management 3) Secure routing 4) Vulnerability analysis 5) Trust management 6) Intrusion detection (cross-layer modeling and analysis of misbehavior) 7) Intrusion response and tolerance 8) Cross layer study of Denial of Service attacks 9) Study of attack strategies and attack modeling 10) Performance analysis of secure medium access control 11) Evaluation of security architectures supported by IEEE 802.15.1, 802.15.3 and 802.15.4 protocols 12) Study of tradeoffs between security and system performance
Paper Submission Submit full papers as PDF files by email to siadhoc@cs.umanitoba.ca. The papers must be less than twenty single-column, double-spaced pages, excluding figures, tables, and references, using a 12-point font size.
For detailed formatting instructions, please refer to the guidelines available at the AD HOC Networks journal web site, http://www.elsevier.com/locate/adhoc/.
