---------------------------------------------------------- Call for Papers:
The First International Workshop on Wireless Sensor and Ad-hoc Networks (WiSAN'08) (http://www.net.t-labs.tu-berlin.de/WiSAN08/)
To be held in conjunction with ICPP'08 (http://www.cse.ohio-state.edu/~icpp2008/) September 8-12, 2008, Portland, Oregon, USA
---------------------------------------------------------- SCOPE ===== During the last decade, the wireless communication has grown by orders of magnitude and the new communication services have been globally adapted with great enthusiasm. This remarkable evolution of wireless communication has led to many challenging problems that require design, analysis and performance evaluation tools to keep up with their rapid evolution and increasing complexity. This workshop will focus on the design, analysis, optimization and evaluation of communication protocols through the application of analytical modeling, simulation, prototype testbed, and measurement-based performance evaluation techniques. The purpose of this workshop is to provide an international forum for researchers and industry practitioners to present their state-of-art and in-progress research on all aspects of wireless sensor and ad-hoc networks, and to exchange ideas and explore new avenues of collaborations.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Design and optimization of sensor and ad-hoc networks - Design and analysis of energy efficient communication protocols - Evaluation of reliability and performance guarantees - Analytical and numerical modeling, queuing system and network models - Performance evaluation of wireless and sensor devices - Measurement based evaluation of sensor and ad-hoc networks - Security issues - Traffic models - Mobility management - Resource allocation management - Routing algorithms - Topology Control and Management - Simulation models for optimization of scarce resources - Group communication algorithms - Performance case studies and industrial reports - Quality of Service provisioning - Integration with broadband wireless network infrastructures - Survivability and Reliability Evaluation - Novel applications and evolutions
SUBMISSION ========== Authors are invited to submit their research papers following the IEEE Computer Society Proceedings Manuscripts style: two columns, single-spaced, including figures and references, using 10 fonts. The papers must not be longer than 6 pages. They will be carefully evaluated based on originality, significance, technical soundness, and clarity of exposition. The papers must be submitted electronically via ICPP-08 website. If there is any problem during submission please contact any of the Workshop Co-chairs. Accepted papers will be given guidelines in preparing and submitting the final manuscript(s) together with the notification of acceptance.
