The successful workshop day at AutomotiveUI'11 with over 75 participants was highly encouraging and we will continue with this submission category. These workshops provide an opportunity for researchers and practitioners to discuss themes of common interest in a less formal setting. We are open to all topic areas, but do encourage workshop proposals covering emerging and future trends in the field.
The proposed workshop should consider topics that can move the field forward and suggest promising new research directions. We accept proposals for full day (~6 hours) or half day (3-4 hours, morning or afternoon) workshops. If the proposal is accepted, the workshop is publicized as part of the conference. The criteria, reviewing and acceptance will be handled by the workshop organizers. Workshops are only open to people accepted by the workshop organizers and who register for the main conference (workshop participation itself is free of charge).
Workshop proposals should be submitted as 4 page (maximum) write-ups. Please format your abstract according to the ACM SIGCHI format. Proposals must contain the following:
-general goal of the workshop
-topics of interest
-proposal for the schedule of the workshop including the preferred type and number of participants you will expect to take part -ideas for publicizing the workshop -procedures for handling the reviews -thoughts about how the outcome of the workshop can be can be captured and retained in a meaningful way
-(short) organizer biographies
Upon proposal acceptance, organizers should set up an external web page delivering all the necessary information for interested participants.
