CALL FOR SHORT PRESENTATIONS AND POSITION PAPERS
iTrust is an Information Society Technologies (IST) Working Group, which started on 1st of August, 2002. The Working Group is being funded as a Concerted Action / Thematic Network by the Future and Emerging Technologies (FET) unit of the IST programme.
The aim of iTrust is to provide a forum for cross-disciplinary investigation of the application of trust as a means of establishing security and confidence in the global computing infrastructure, recognizing trust as a crucial enabler for meaningful and mutually beneficial interactions. The forum brings together researchers with a keen interest of complementary aspects of trust, from both technology-oriented disciplines and the field of law, social sciences and philosophy.
To support the interdisciplinary focus of iTrust, the 3rd iTrust Workshop offers four main sessions covering the fields Computer Science, Economy, Law, and Philosophy/Social Sciences. Each session consists of a keynote speech followed by a number of short presentations.
The following lead speakers are selected: Computer Science: Prof. Dr. Joachim Biskup, University of Dortmund, Germany Economy: TBA Law: Prof. Dr. juris Olav Torvlund, NRCCL, University of Oslo, Norway, and Dr. Michael Bohne, Westfälische Wilhelsuniversität Münster, Germany Philosophy/Social Sciences: Dr. Rino Falcone, Institute of Cognitive Sciences and Technologies, Rome, Italy
Proposals for short presentations are called hereby. A short presentation will have a duration of about 10 minutes. It should be accompanied by an abstract or extended abstract of up to five pages in order to enable the iTrust Steering Committee to decide about acceptance or rejection.
Moreover, a short presentation can be accompanied by a position paper which will be published within the iTrust web pages. The position paper should not exceed 10 pages.

Submit proposal for short presentation including abstract or extended abstract by email to Peter.Herrmann@udo.edu.
Important Deadlines:
Proposals for short presentations including abstract or extended abstract: September 20, 2004.
Notification of acceptance: September 24, 2004.
Position papers: October 18, 2004.
