Call-For-Papers
2004 IEEE International Workshop on IP Operations & Management (IPOM 2004)
Self-Measurement & Self-Management of IP Networks & Services
October 11 – 13, 2004 (October 11 for Tutorials) Beijing Friendship Hotel (A very special rate has been reached.) http://www.BJfriendshiphotel.com Beijing, China
Sponsored by the IEEE Communications Society Co-Sponsored by National Natural Science Foundation of China Co-Sponsored by China Institute of Communications Co-Sponsored by Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications
2004 IEEE International Workshop on IP Operations & Management (IPOM 2004), the 4th IPOM, provides the open forum to researchers, engineers and academia to exchange the latest technical information and research findings about IP Operations & Management concepts, theories, technologies, and applications: from existing deployments, current developments to future evolutions. IPv6 Networks have progressed into realm of optical communications-based, wireless, and mobility-enabled networks and further promises to add QoS-guaranteed resource allocations for multimedia-oriented applications and services in the near future. Especially, China is going to shape the largest IP network in the world in terms of users. The IP network operations and management are the crucial challenges we face. They open a huge area of innovation for new concept, theory and technology introduction.
Topics of interested areas include but are not limited to: ?Network Monitoring, Measurement, and Visualization of IP Networks ?Traffic Modeling, Measurement, Analysis, Engineering, and Visualization for IP Networks ?Network Planning and Design ?Self-Configuration, Self-Healing, and Self-Management ?Intra-/Inter-Domain Routing Policy Issues and Management ?Intra-/Inter-Domain QoS ?Interworking Operations and Management of IP over SONET/SDH or WDM Networks ?MPLS, GMPLS, and ASON ?Provisioning & Restoration ?Security and Privacy in IP Networks ?IP Troubleshooting ?Mobile/Wireless IP Networks (802.11, Ad-Hoc Networks, WPAN, 3G and Beyond) Operations & Management ?Managed Services on IP Networks (IP-VPN, QoS, VoIP, Instant Messaging, Video over IP, Webcasting, etc.) ?Enterprise IP Network Management ?IP Grid Management and Grid Services ?Web Architectures and Services (e.g., Content Distribution Networks, Load Balancing, Caching, XML) ?Directory, Web and XML-based IP Management ?Management of Sensor Networks ?Large-Scale IP Network Operations & Management ?Management of Dynamic Service Level Agreements ?Charging and Accounting for IP Services ?Connectivity and Growth of IP Networks in Emerging Geographies
