CALL FOR PAPERS--SecQoS Workshop 2006 http://www.secqos.org
The Second IEEE/CREATE-NET Workshop on Security and QoS in Communication Networks Baltimore, MD, USA, Sep. 1, 2006
In conjunction with IEEE/CREATE-NET Securecomm 2006 http://www.securecomm.org
Co-sponsored by IEEE Communications Society Co-sponsored by CREATE-NET
Submission Deadline: May 10, 2006
Security protocols and mechanism for communication networks have provided many features such as user access control, data confidentiality, user privacy, and system integrity. At the mean time, QoS is one of the most important issues for services and applications, especially for performance evaluation in the presence of security concerns and attacks for different network architectures and applications. This workshop is dedicated to original efforts in the area that brings security solutions and their impact on system performance together. The topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
-- Trade-off of QoS and security in real-time transmission over wireless networks -- Authentication and user access control for handover in heterogeneous wireless networks, such as wireless LANs, 3G systems, and wireless mesh networks. -- Impact of security management on QoS in high speed networks, such as grid networks -- Design and analysis of security protocols and mechanism for highly dynamic networks. -- Preventing QoS theft, selfish behaviors, and policing. -- Threat modeling and attach measures -- Evaluating the impact of Denial of Service (DoS) attacks -- Trust management for distributed grid and wireless network -- Protocols for authentication and authorization for QoS-sensitive applications -- Cross-layer security protocols -- Robust, fault-tolerant network architecture -- Testbed, application practice, and standard activities -- Joint approaches to QoS and security metrics
Technical papers describing original unpublished research are solicited. The workshop papers will be published in CD-ROM proceedings. Securecomm offers a limited Student Travel Grant for selected qualified students.
Authors are invited to submit papers formatted according to IEEE conference style 2-column, 10 pages limit.
Submissions must be uploaded electronically as PDF documents through the conference Web site (http://www.secqos.org) For further information, please send an email to secqos@create-net.it.
The review process will be based on a single round of technical reviews. Acceptance will be limited to those papers requiring only minor revisions. The key dates are listed as follows:
Manuscript Submission Due Date: May 10, 2006 Notification of Acceptance: June 1, 2006 Final Camera-Ready Submission: June 25, 2006 Workshop Date: September 1, 2006
