ACM Mobile Networks and Applications (MONET) Special Issue on WIRELESS HETEROGENEOUS NETWORKS AND NEXT GENERATION INTERNET
Extended Deadline: December 31st, 2008.
The recent advances in wireless access technologies as well as the increasing number of mobile applications have made Wireless Internet a reality. A wide variety of bandwidth demanding services including high speed data delivery and multimedia communication have been materialized through the convergence of the next generation Internet and heterogeneous wireless networks. However, providing even higher bandwidth and richer applications necessitates a fundamental understanding of wireless Internet architecture and the interactions between heterogeneous users. Consequently, fundamental advances in many concepts of the wireless Internet are required for the ultimate goal of communication anytime anywhere.
This special issue is dedicated to recent advances in the area of wireless Internet. Papers describing applications, protocols, models, evaluation methods, and experimental studies of Wireless Internet are solicited for this special issue. Topics of interest include (but are not limited to):
- Convergence of heterogeneous wireless networks - Mobile P2P networking, systems, and applications - Next generation Internet services and applications - Cross-layer Design and Optimization - Wireless Access Technologies (WLANs, WiMAX, satellite, 3G and Beyond) - QoS management and traffic modeling - Multi-hop Wireless Networks (Wireless sensor networks, mobile ad hoc networks, and wireless mesh networks) - Algorithm design and performance analysis - Emerging Technologies and Applications including: -- Vehicular ad hoc networks (VANET) -- Cognitive radio networks -- Bio-inspired networks -- Context-aware mobile networking -- Wireless body area networks (WBANs) - Network Security - Wireless Internet Platforms, Testbeds, and Software
Submission Instructions: ----------------------------------- Authors should follow the MONET Journal manuscript format described below at the journal site: http://www.springerlink.com/content/101750/. Submissions should be limited to 25 double space pages including figures, graphs, illustrations, and references, and use at least 11pt fonts. Manuscripts should be submitted on line through http://www.editorialmanager.com/mone/.
