CALL FOR PAPERS
Springer Journal of Human-centric Computing and Information Sciences
Special Issue on Pervasive Computing Systems
Pervasive networking has recently emerged as a new research topic in the area of communication network systems. It mainly involves methods, algorithms and protocols that enable devices to autonomously selforganize in network structures and use those infrastructures to facilitate the exchange of information and delivery of services. These systems typically communicate via low-cost and energy efficient ambient wireless technologies so as to enable seamless interaction and service provisioning.
The objective of this Special Issue is to capture recent developments and publish ongoing research activities in the area of pervasive computing systems. We encourage submission of both theoretical and application oriented research papers that span - but are not limited to - the following topics:
Networking for ambient intelligence Context and situation -awareness in pervasive systems Middleware for pervasive networking Pervasive network management Energy-aware protocols for pervasive networking Pervasive networking applications Positioning and tracking in pervasive networks Privacy and security in pervasive networks Experiences in deploying pervasive networks Pervasive social computing Energy management in pervasive devices Pervasive wearable computers, RFIDs, sensor technology Pervasive innovative HCI design
Submission Instructions:
Submitted articles must not have been previously published or currently submitted for journal publication elsewhere. Before submission authors should carefully read over the Instructions for Authors, which are located at thehugojournal.com/authors/instructions. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the SpringerOpen submission system at http://www.thehugojournal.com/manuscript according to the submission schedule. They should choose the correct Special Issue in the “sections” box upon submitting. In addition, they should specify the manuscript as a submission to the “Special Issue on Pervasive Computing Systems” in the cover letter. All submissions will undergo initial screening by the Guest Editors for fit to the theme of the Special Issue and prospects for successfully negotiating the review process.
For inquiries about the Special Issue, contact: Petros Nicopolitidis at petros@csd.auth.gr Authors of papers accepted in IEEE CITS 2012 conference are encouraged to submit an extended version of their papers to this Special Issue.
Submission Schedule:
Submission due: July 31, 2012 Acceptance Notification: October 15, 2012 Final versions due: October 30, 2012 Publication Date: Late 2012
