CALL FOR PAPERS
Quality of Service (QoS) has long been the focus of communications and networking researchers worldwide. While traditional QoS research areas continue to attract much interest, recent exploration of Internet of things, data centers, virtualization, cloud and fog computing, cloud services, industrial communication systems, and “green” computing has motivated a new wave of research interest in service guarantees with QoS, and its related metrics of Quality of Experience (QoE), Quality of Protection (QoP), Software Quality, Knowledge Base Quality or, more broadly, Quality of Information Technology. For more than two decades, IWQoS has established itself as a highly reputable forum to present novel ideas on all QoS-related subjects. IWQoS 2017 sets the goal to continuing to be a premier symposium and an international forum for presentation and discussion of cutting-edge research in the field. The scope of IWQoS 2017 covers both newest theoretical and experimental research papers. Besides regular papers, this year, IWQoS includes the Work-in-Progress track inviting papers presenting new talent, risky ideas, and new subjects to be discussed in a creative and inspiring atmosphere of the event. It is a lively forum to discuss work among each other and with senior researchers, with a special focus on work in progress, upcoming research challenges, and new directions in the field of QoS. Topics of interest include QoS issues in (but not limited to) the following areas:
* Quality of services in Internet of things * Quality of cloud services and cloud computing * Quality of mobile cloud services and fog computing * Quality of protection, user experience, security and privacy * Quality of services in software-defined networking * Quality of services in information-centric networking * Quality of services in DTN, mobile and next generation cellular networking * Quality of services in information-centric networking * Quality of service in physical networks * System dependability, availability, resilience and robustness to faults and security attacks * Robustness against security vulnerabilities in critical infrastructures * Scheduling, resource management, queue management, admission control * Traffic engineering approaches and tools for provisioning and evaluation * Quality evaluation metrics and methodologies * QoS parsing, identification and control * Quality of software * Quality of experience in multimedia networks * Measurement, evaluation, adaptation and verification * Network operations, pricing and billing, network and service management * Architectures and protocols for IP, overlay and peer-to-peer networks, optical networks, wireless, ad hoc, mesh, and sensor networks * Energy awareness in communication systems * Design for future networks and computing systems with QoS in mind
Regular Paper Submission Guidelines: IWQoS invites submission of manuscripts with original research results that have not been previously published or that are not currently under review by another conference or journal. Submissions will be rigorously judged based on originality, significance, interest, clarity, relevance, and correctness. IWQoS aims at rapid dissemination of research results. Regular paper submissions should be no longer than 10 single-spaced, double-column pages with font-size of 10. Work in Progress Paper Submission Guidelines: IWQoS invites submission of manuscripts not previously published or under submission elsewhere, offering new and unexplored, and, even untested ideas in related to QoS that present creative thinking, whilst at the same time opening new opportunities and research directions with high-risk-high-reward outlook. Doctorate students, and those with entrepreneurial ambitions are invited to present. Submissions will be judged based on originality, creativity, and potential. Work-in-progress paper submissions should be no longer than 5 single-spaced, double-column pages with font-size of 10. Reviewing will be double-blind for both categories of papers. Submissions must not reveal the authors’ names and their affiliations and should make all efforts to avoid obvious self-references and disclosures. Submissions not meeting these guidelines will be rejected without consideration of their merits. Accepted and presented papers for both categories, will be published in the conference proceedings and submitted to IEEE Xplore as well as other Abstracting and Indexing (A&I) databases. Papers for the two categories must be submitted electronically as PDF files, via EDAS. EDAS submission: https://edas.info/newPaper.php?c=22762&track=81483
