============================================================================================================================== CALL FOR PAPERS P2P Track ICCCN 2009 18th International Conference on Computer Communications and Networks (August 2-6, 2009, San Francisco, CA, USA)

In recent years, peer-to-peer (P2P) technology has proven itself, through initial deployment success, as a strong enabling platform to support a wide variety of killer applications such as Internet TV, video conferencing, persistent storage, etc. Via utilizing end host resources such as storage capacity and access bandwidth, P2P can effectively support the large-scale distribution of high-volume content as well as services with high scalability and availability. This special track solicits original works addressing all aspects related to P2P with an emphasis on system issues, including architectural design, distributed protocol design, security and peer authentication mechanism, prototype deployment experience, and new applications. The topics include, but are not limited to:

Content replication P2P streaming Localizations Resource discovery in P2P systems Error resilience, fault tolerance, and robustness in peer-to-peer streaming Content ownership and copyright protection, digital rights management Security, trust, authentication, and privacy in peer-to-peer systems Performance monitoring and measurement study in peer-to-peer streaming system Deployment experience of peer-to-peer streaming service New applications, e.g., interactive gaming Evaluation of P2P protocols

In addition to those classical topics, we would like to attract submissions on issues that arise while implementing a real P2P system. Those issues can be, but are not limited to: caching and disk access, interaction with TCP congestion control, reliability and availability of system components, report on utilization or conception of P2P libraries, report on practical issues with NAT traversal, etc.

Submission Instructions

Papers have to be submitted via EDAS. We expect the submission site to open in late 2008. Note two important changes from previous years:

An abstract must be registered for each paper by the abstract registration deadline. There is no "general track". Each paper must be submitted to one specifc track. Please check the list of tracks and topics to identify the most suitable track. If there is a concern about where to submit a paper, contact the technical program chairs.
