Call for Papers
IEEE WoWMoM 2009 is soliciting original and previously unpublished papers addressing research challenges and advances towards a world of wireless, mobile, and multimedia pervasive communications. The evolution of wireless networking technologies offers an increasing wealth of opportunities for distributing multimedia contents over wireless networks, enabling dissemination of professional contents to mobile users as well as sharing user-generated contents among them. Users will be able to retrieve, publish, and manage information, communicate with other users or devices, access and author services, create and exploit context-awareness and so on. Papers that present work, validated by experimentation, simulation, or analysis, are solicited. Practical experiences and experimental efforts from both industry and academy, duly documenting the lessons learned from test-beds, field-trial, or real deployments, are also welcome. Manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the EDAS system. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: - System prototypes and experiences - QoS for voice and video in wireless networks - Middleware support for QoS provision - Differentiated services for wireless multimedia - IP-based wireless multimedia services - Networking services for pervasive systems - Multicasting and broadcasting issues - Handoff and mobility management - Seamless internetworking - Energy-efficient protocols and power management - Network management and troubleshooting - IP-based mobile networks - Context-aware wireless multimedia applications - Location mechanism and services - Wireless BAN, PAN, LAN, and MAN - Ad hoc and sensor networks - Wireless mesh networks - Vehicular wireless networks - Third and fourth generation systems - Wireless security and dependability - Content Management and Distribution - Modeling and Performance evaluation
The WoWMoM 2009 technical program will also include two-days workshops on hot topics on wireless, mobile and multimedia networks.
