The intention of this Special Issue is to present a collection of manuscripts that discuss novel and innovative applications of networking to healthcare operations. Telecommunications, networking technology and information, computer and communication technologies (IC²T) have introduced the chance of major transformation in healthcare delivery.
The emphasis of the Special Issue is on the use of these technologies in the facilitation of pre- and hospital clinical practice, large scale healthcare operations, and national and international level healthcare and its administration. Particular emphasis will be put on novel and unique applications of networking that address the increasingly complex issues of contemporary and future healthcare delivery and management.
Subject Coverage
The following subjects are of primary interest for this issue of IJNVO:
* Telemedicine/telemetry * Medical applications of virtual reality (VR) * Distance surgery * Electronic patient records * Technology-mediated solutions to health issues in emergency and disaster scenarios * Applications of intelligence technologies to networking solutions * Network design issues for healthcare operations
Other forms of innovative applications of the network concept in healthcare context will be also considered

Submitted papers should not have been previously published nor be currently under consideration for publication elsewhere
