Dear All, Please find below a call for papers for Special Issue in Elsevier Future Generation Computer Systems Journal.
Please accept our apologies if you receive multiple copies of this announcement. ----------- CALL FOR PAPERS
Special Issue in Elsevier Future Generation Computer Systems Journal. "Information and Resource Management Systems for Internet of Things: Energy Management, Communication Protocols and Future Applications"
Submission Deadline: Mar 15, 2017
THE THEME ------------------ The concept of Internet of Things (IoT) gives the idea of interconnection of objects embedded with sensors technology operating under diverse working environments. It will enable the humans to access, control and manage the operations and data of the objects working under different information systems of their surroundings by using the ongoing communication technologies. IoT will serve the communities across the different domains of life covering industrial, health, home and day to day operations in information systems. In information system, the embedded devices and objects working under IoT implementation are resource constrained. Due to the huge number of heterogeneous network elements interacting and working under IoT based information systems, there is an enormous need of resource management for the smooth running of IoT operations. During the implementation of IoT, it is important to meet the challenges raised during management and sharing of resources in information s! ystems. Managing of resources by implementing protocols, algorithms or techniques is required to enhance the scalability, reliability and stability in the operations of IoT across different domain of technologies. This special issue is an effort to open the new areas of interest for the researchers in the domain of resource management during the operations of IoT based information systems.
The motivation of this Special Issue is to solicit the efforts and ongoing research work in the domain of resource management in IoT. This issue will be elaborating the key aspects of energy management, communication protocols and future applications of IoT for information systems. These include IoT-Clouds, IoT based industrial and home environments and integration of IoT concept in upcoming technologies of Cyber Physical System, Ambient living and Fog computing. This will provide the opportunity for research community across the globe to share their ideas on these newly emerging fields of IoT.
The topics for this Special Section include:
Energy Management and Resource Sharing in IoT: - Energy management in IoT based Information Systems. - Renewable energy resources for Industrial information system under IoT. - Resource Sharing in IoT-cloud Information Systems. - Managing energy resources in Ambient living systems. - Smart Cites under IoT implementations.
Role of Communication Protocols in IoT: - Multimedia communication in IoT based Information Systems. - QoS in communication protocols under IoT operations for information Systems. - Mac layer issues under IoT-home applications. - Secure communication in D2D environments.
Future Applications of IoT: - IoT based Information Systems for Ambient living. - Cyber Physical System in IoT. Role of Green IoT systems. - Fog computing in IoT.
Submission Guidelines: --------------------------------- All submissions have to be prepared according to the Guide for Authors as published in the Journal website at http://ees.elsevier.com/fgcs/. Authors should select “SI:IRMSIoT”, from the “Choose Article Type” pull-down menu during the submission process at EVISE. All contributions must not have been previously published or be under consideration for publication elsewhere. A submission based on one or more papers that appeared elsewhere has to comprise major value-added extensions over what appeared previously (at least 30% new material). Authors are requested to attach to the submitted paper their relevant, previously published articles and a summary document explaining the enhancements made in the journal version.
Important Dates: ----------------------- Manuscript Submission Due: 15th March 2017 Acceptance / Rejection notification: 15th May 2017 Final Decision Due: 30th July 2017 Expected publication of Special Issue: October 2017
