Hi, I am trying to study the neighbor discovery mechanism in IBR- DTN.Is there any documentation on this other than the internet draft on IPND?How do we enable the nodes to send beacons and discover neighbors through the configuration file? Whenever I write static connection to other nodes,I get a number of CurNeighbors.If I comment out this part,the daemon says CurNeighbors says 0. I want to know how the node in this case (with CurNeighbors 0) and routing set to epidemic discover other nodes?How are the summary vectors sent?(Note:in this case I see no exchange of messages in wireshark ) Neha Paranjape Graduate Student(Telecommunications) University of Maryland,College Park

Routing clarification

Hello list, I am trying to get some DTN routing working in the lab. My question is: Does IBR-DTN insert any routes into the kernel routing table? After neighbor discovery, how does dtnd store the neighbor info? Do I need to run OLSR or similar adhoc routing protocols along with dtnd? I know for sure that OLSRd for OpenWRT inserts some routes into the kernel. I ask because I am afraid that dtnd relies on the kernel routes to send a packet down the stack (which may contain a route to the desired DTN destination node via a long route through other neighbors - this may result in the packet going on a longer route instead of the source node waiting till the destination comes within range). This either happens because you use epidemic routing, or you have a static route which will transfer bundles to "ibrdtnnode2.dtn". However "ibrdtnnode2" != "ibrdtnnode2.dtn", therefore "ibrdtnnode2.dtn" is not the final destination for the bundle destined to "ibrdtnnode2" and thus a dtnrecv on ibrdtnnode2.dtn will not get this bundle. Hello, It should work. Can you copy the dtnsend and dtnrecv commands you use and the output form BOTH daemons (sender and receiver) and post them to this list? Also, is dtnping working? How to view content of the bundles at the receiver

Hi, I think I am successful in sending a bundle across to the destination.I see the following events happening: 1.bundle received 2.queue bundle event 3.bundle event 4.transfercompleted event 5.bundle event:bundle forwarded I want to see the content of the bundles at the receiver.I can see them queued in the following directory /var/spool/ibrdtn/bundles which is set in my ibrdtn.conf.example file. Is it possible to do so using dtnrecv?I have tried doing it and I get the following message Waiting for incoming data... Problem using dtnsend command

Hi, I am having problems using the dtnsend command. This is what I have done so far: 1.I have two laptops talking to each other with IBR-DTN daemon's running. 2.I am using static routing between them and have configured it in the ibrdtn.conf.example file for both of them. 3.On one of the laptop's,I issue the dtnsend command and try to transfer a file. 4.I get a message saying 'X' bytes sent. 5.When I check whether it has arrived at the second laptop using the dtnrecv command,I dont see it. 6.On the first laptop(the source),I see that the bundle is stored in the /var/spool/ibrdtn/bundles directory. I would like to know what is going on behind all this.If the source is saying that it has sent 'X' bytes then why does the destination not see it?.Can someone please help me understand this and suggest how to fix this problem? HELP: about multi-path ibr-dtn routing

Hello, We're trying to implement a ibr-dtn gateway so that it can send bundles to two other routers. Basically there's a gateway A, which has two paths to the same destination B, one is a direct link A-to-B, and the other one has another router C in between, A-C-B (all ibr-dtn). We edited the file ibrdtn.conf like this: (openWRT configuration file) config 'static-route' list pattern dtn://* option destination dtn://B option destination dtn://C The routing strategy is default, and the forwarding option is yes. Is this configuration correct, and if so, can you tell us where we might have not configured it right? We also tried without static route but it did not work. Is it possible to, without static routes but with the neighbours being discovered, forward bundles to these rediscovered neighbours? Thank you for your time, rjbangueses.
