Set up static routes in OpenWRT

Hi, I want to set static connections from dtn://host2 to dtn://host4 and dtn://host5 in parallel and send file to dtn://host6 which is unreachable by all. What should I configure at the configuration file in OpenWRT? I have made the following but packets did not arrive to 4 and 5 respectively. config 'daemon' 'main' # values: none | default | epidemic | flooding | prophet option routing default # static routing rules # - a rule is a regex pattern # - format is <target-scheme> <routing-node> # config 'static-route' # list pattern .... # option destination .... config 'static-connection' option uri dtn://host4 option address 10.0.1.4 option port 4556 option protocol tcp option immediately yes config 'static-connection' option uri dtn://host5 option address 10.0.1.5 option port 4556 option protocol tcp option immediately yes I missed sth for sure, but what? Hi Jawad/ Johannes, Thank you for your inputs. @Jawad: Your comments were detailed and has helped me so far. I see the ibrdtn configuration file for different architectures (ARM, MIPS) are quite different. The editions suggested by Jawad have been edited in one of the nodes, however for OpenWrt node end, the static routes are configured as: option 'static-route' list pattern .... option destination dtn://router config 'static-connection' ... ... (1) How do I interpret this (option 'static-route')? This part of the setting is quite different from the one mentioned by Jawad. There is no route1, etc. (2) @Johannes, I have made the routing = none instead of default. Further, I have edited in node A the following: route1 = B C route 2 = C B. (3) I believe I must have the "forwarding" set to yes, to enable the bundles to cross over. Please correct me if I am wrong. -- Best Regards, Shyam -- Best Regards, Shyam

Hi Sebastian/ Johannes, I have three nodes (A, B, C) running ibr-dtn. I would like the packets to be forwarded from A->B->C and C->B->A but never directly from A->C or vice-versa. How could I achieve this? I wonder if the static configuration can help me and if this can be setup via the configuration file? I couldn't find the answer to this in the forum. In the configuration file, I see two parts relating to static configurations: # route all bundles for "~dtn://*.moon.dtn..." via "dtn://*..." route1 = .... ### node-five.dtn### static2_address = .... ..... 1) Could you tell me if this is possible to do? 2) Could you give me an example of how to set this up? 3) The static URI is ended with .dtn. Hi Johannes, Thanks for replying me so quickly, now it is working! However, I am wondering about the fact that IBR-DTN does not support broadcast addesses for IPND, may I ask why? I used to set that broadcast IP on previous version of ibrdtn, what is the advantage of using the discovery through multicast? As far as I know, multicast is based in the broadcast so it might increase the overhead over the network especially if it is wireless one, isn't it? Android dtnsend equivalent

Hello, I'm currently trying the ibr-dtn for android app. It works fine and I can ping the phone from a computer connected on the same network using WiFi. I would now like to build my own DTN application in order to send bundles from the phone and receive them on a computer connected on the same network. I have looked at the code from DTNExampleApp and ShareBox. When I use the DTNExampleApp, I keep getting the following messages in the logs (from DTNClient) : - registration successful - Session not available, need to register. I tried to build my own app nevertheless but it is stuck on the DTNClient.getSession() blocking call. This is what I did : DTNClient client = new DTNClient(); Registration registration = new Registration("dtnsendapp"); client.initialize(this, registration); EID destination = new SingletonEndpoint("dtn://receiver.dtn/dtnrecvapp"); Bundle b = new Bundle(); b.setDestination(destination); b.setLifetime(3600L); b.setReportto(SingletonEndpoint.ME); Session s = client.getSession(); <-- program hangs here String payload = "Hello World"; BundleID ret = s.send(b, payload.getBytes()); NB : I removed the Try, Catch to make the example as readable as possible. Interface failed to start (IBR-DTN v.0.10.2)

Hi Sebastian, Thanks for coming to the rescue yet again. I already owe you some for the couple previous rescues;) I have two systems (One is RPi and the other is a TP-Link router). Both have the following IPs: 192.168.10.53 and 192.168.10.207 and both are able to ping each other on the network level. Therefore, I assume the problem to be on the IBR-DTN level since ad-hoc communication is set properly. When I use two RPi's or an RPi and an x64-based laptop running Ubuntu, DTN-pings like a charm. There seems to be a problem communicating between the two (Rpi and TP-Link). The DTN is running on an external pen drive on TP-Link (since, there is no space for it on the flash memory) Apparently not just one but these two errors, aka warnings (over TP-Link): ERROR TCPConvergenceLayer: bind failed (cannot bind socket with address [192.168.10.207]:4556) ERROR IPNDAgent: join failed on wlan0; 99: setsockopt() PS: Attached is the ibrdtn.conf file as seen on the TP-Link router and RPi. In my personal experience, the Rpi Ibrdtn file is unchanged for a long time and the settings work with other neighboring nodes without a problem. The problem can be/should be with TP-Link part, I believe. If I solve this, I am sure to throw a party ;) Any help is greatly appreciated. -- Best Regards, Shyam
