Hi, I install ibrdtn software in single board computers running OpenWrt with MIPS architecture and just 128M of RAM Memory. Because of this, I reduce the thread stack size in Thread.cpp file from 2M to 256K and virtual memory reduces a lot, and at least during the last day it didn’t crash. Do you tested the ibrdtn with smaller value or do you know if I will have a segmentation fault for larger scenarios? What is the operation requiring more memory by dtnd? I defined a path for the bundle storage. I also check dtnd process and it uses around 25 threads, which is a lot for our embedded system with other programs running. There is any change to reduce the number of threads? and how can I do it? thanks a lot, Tiago

hello, i have nodeA, nodeB, nodeC. all nodes are in the same range (directly connected) i want to route from nodeA to nodeC via nodeB but using prophet. can i set this manually, in order to make route from nodeA to nodeC via nodeB ? (nodeA and nodeC in the same range) thanks.

Hello, i set routing=prophet in nodeA,B,C and i try to dtnping from nodeA to nodeC (nodeA and nodeC is not directly connected) when the dtnping still on going, i move nodeB from near nodeA and then come near node C and vice versa. but the dtnping ping in nodeA still got time out? is there any option to know that the bundle from nodeA to nodeC going trough nodeB ? Just set "routing = prophet" on all nodes. > > >

Problems with Blobs folder and Virtual Memory

Hi, We are using IBR-DTN in a vehicular testbed and we currently have 2 issues we are tackling and we would appreciate if you can give us some input about them: 1) Blobs folder As far as we know, this folder's goal is only to host files temporarily. However, after a long time running IBR-DTN (several days) we have seen it increase its size and it has reached 28 MB. It contains many files, many of them old files. We cannot have such an amount of storage being used for this folder, and we would like to correct whatever is causing this. For now we are cleaning the files in folder when the devices boot, but we do not want that as a permanent solution. 2) Virtual Memory We have seen that IBR-DTN does not take up a lot of real memory and we did not have problems with that, but as time goes by we see the daemon taking more and more virtual memory, growing into the several hundreds of percent of the real memory. We are not sure if that might cause problems as time goes by so we would like to prevent the virtual memory from increasing to such enormous values. Do you have ideas or suggestions on how to tackle these 2 issues? Thank you very much, Romeu Monteiro

Awkward sync problem

Hi, I'm having a weird problem which I would like to share. I have a two nodes with IBR-DTN, a laptop and a router station. When I turn on the router, the date is Jan. 01 1970 The date of the laptop is the current date. I tryed dtnping, dtnsend & dtnrecv, dtninbox & dtnoutbox, and it works fine with this configuration. IMO, this is a little strange, because I faced situations where synchronization is needed to reach communication with IBR-DTN. However, the stranger is coming! (paraphrasing game of thrones) I setup the router time to the current time too, then, dtnping, dtnsend/dtnrecv, and dtninbox/dtnoutbox stopped working. Weird, right? Can someone help me? PS. the config file is attached. PS2. I want to see everybody here rooting for Brazil (we will be six-times world champions) =) Juliano

Hello André, your scenario is not possible this way. Each DTN node must have a unique singleton EID to work. Configuring the same EID twice only adds a second path to the same node. The daemon would only utilize one path at the same time. If you want to exploit multi-cast or group EIDs, then you simply register your application to a group EID and send your bundles to that group. You should read the dtnsend / dtnrecv help texts for details. Group routing is implemented similar to flooding and depends on the dynamic routing protocol you configured. "flooding", "epidemic" and "prophet" are routing schemes which support group routing. All of them work slightly different. In future, please direct those questions to the mailing-list instead of directly to me. That way other experts get a change to answer your questions. hello, i have this scenario, nodeA = source nodeB = destination nodeC, nodeD, nodeE = nodes between nodeA and nodeB (mobile) i want to send file using ibr-dtn from nodeA to nodeB, but there isn't direct connection between both node (nodeA and nodeB) between nodeA and nodeB there are 3 node(nodeC,E,D) that move randomly and meet each other. how can i configure my ibr-dtn to use prophet dynamic routing with this scenario? thanks for helping :)
