Please send answers to the mailing list! Queuing a bundle for a transfer to the next-hop is only done if the next-hop node is available as neighbor. Further, this process is executed on several events. One such event is the generation of a bundle, another is the availability of a neighbor. In any cases routing in IBR-DTN is a reactive mechanism. There exists a queue but this is limited to several bundles for each neighbor and a FIFO without any ordering. If the queue is occupied, then no additional bundle gets queued. The retransmission mechanism handles the transmission back-off for each re-queued bundle. While a bundle is in the re-queuing mechanism it is still in the queue for the destination, but it is held back until the back-off is past. Re-queuing might happen under several circumstances. One of them is the failed connection to a neighbor which should be available. As told in some mails earlier, the priority is just an ordering in the bundle storage. It is NO guarantee that bundles will be delivered in the priority order. After this I enable the wifi (so the sender router sees the receiver router). By faking disconnection you mean this? When a bundle is queued for transmission? Right after typing the dtnsend command or when the sender router sees another node (or the destination one)? On the other hand, if a bundle is queued for transmission and the transmission fails you should not try to retransmit the same bundle again to maintain the sorted queue based in priority, instead of trying to retransmit the next bundle? You will lost the sorting if you do in this way.

Strange behavior sending bundles

Hello, I was doing some testing sending some files with the dtnsend and dtnreceiver tools and checking if the priority parameter works as intended when I found something weird in my results. My test consist in sending 5 files: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. File 1 has high priority. Files 2, 3 and 4 have normal priority. File 5 has low priority. First of all, the router which sends the files cannot see the destination node, so the files (bundles) will be stored in this router. After all 5 bundles are stored in the router I connect it to the other router and start the dtnrecv program, so bundles are transmitted without problem. Everything seems fine, but after revising the logs I found some weird and it's that the receiver received the bundles in the following order: 4, 5, 1, 2 and 3. The logical order would be 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 so I redo the experiment and now the bundles were received in the following order: 2, 3, 4, 5 and 1, so something weird is happening. When it's connected the sender sends the next bundle in his "periodic checking list" instead of sending the bundle which is the first in the queue and has the highest priority. If the library ibrcommon isn't found by configure. Then it isn't installed right. What does this command say? $ pkg-config --libs ibrcommon To install the ibrcommon library call "make install" after compiling it. I've followed your steps and I've been able to compile ibrcommon, but I could not do the same with ibrdtn since when I reconfigure it( with the option reconfigure project) I was retreived this error ... checking pkg-config is at least version 0.9.0... yes checking for ibrcommon... no ibrcommon library not found! Configuration failed with error I have already installed from source following the script on the wiki, but even so I was given that error. Do I need to include the path of ibrcommon into ibrdtn project in eclipse? Thanks again regards

Hi Alex, I'll try to answer this, though I'm not the "official IBR-DTN developer":) The things got a bit confused here. > 1. We copy the options we passed to argv to the bundle b. (dtnsend.cpp) > 2. We send the bundle b to the client through "client << b" (dtnsend.cpp) Up till here it's fine. > 3. The client, who has done client.connect() before, has the _receiver.start() working. (client.cpp) Now this receiver is for receiving bundles, not for sending. So this part is involved in dtnrecv, not in dtnsend. The bundles got to the daemon through the BinaryStreamClient (ibrdtnd/src/api). In the connection function you'll notice this: _stream << "protocol tcpcl"; And in ClientHandler (ibrdtnd/src/api) you'll see the creation of the BinaryStreamClient when it receives "protocol tcpcl". This is the part of the daemon that notifies the daemon when the bundle is received from the client. Have a look at ApiServer::processIncomingBundle(). Now if we go back to receiving bundles: > 3. The client, who has done client.connect() before, has the _receiver.start() working. (client.cpp) > 4. I suppose, step 3 calls for the Client::AsyncReceiver::run(). (client.cpp) > 5. Now, the client sends the information to a variable and the client receive it with "_client >> b" and "_client.received(b)". (client.cpp) > 6. Finally, when the client receives the bundle it makes an "_inqueue.push(b)" to put it in the queue (client.cpp) This is valid for dtnrecv. Again the daemon part that actually gets the bundle from the storage would be BinaryStreamClient and AsyncReceiver is responsible of getting the bundle from BinaryStreamClient and putting it to _inqueue. > My questions are: > > - What kind of storage is that queue? The I do import the project to eclipse is: 1. New -> other 2. C/C++ -> Makefile Project with Existing Code -> Next 3. Enter name and code location 4. Select "GNU Autotools Toolchain" -> Finish As next you should do the steps described in the Wiki at least once at least. Then you can compile the code as other as you wish using the build command. The path in your eclipse project depends on you specific system. Thus, it is not a solution to just copy the path settings from somebody else. The best way for you is to import the project as C++ autotools project. In this case eclipse will set the right default paths settings for you. Hi. Please try the Eclipse IDE for C/C++ Developers Edition from here: http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/ And import the code as autotools project. Compiling IBRDTN for OpenWRT

Hello, I'm trying to compile the 0.8.0v of ibrdtn, ibrdtnd, ibrdtn-tools and ibrcommon using the OpenWRT toolchain. Looking for accomplish this, some doubts came to my mind, could you help me please? 1.- I have found (and already installed and working) your ibrdtn packages from http://www.ibr.cs.tu-bs.de/projects/ibr-dtn/releases/openwrt/10.03.1/ar71xx/. This packages are compiled using the source code from http://www.ibr.cs.tu-bs.de/projects/ibr-dtn/releases/ ".tar.gz" files or are you using an specific code for OpenWRT? I'm asking this because I've found that your ibrdtn seems integrated with the OpenWRT config (using the UCI) and you have the /etc/init.d/ibrdtnd script already. 2.- As there are already .ipk packages for OpenWRT I was looking for the Makefile you used to compile them but I haven't found it. Good morning, I'm trying to compile ibrdtn on eclipse with g++, but I'm retreiving a lot of errors related to the path configuration on eclipse; since it is messing around with the paths, since for instance some *.cpp files don't find their own *.h headers and then give back an compilation error... So I would like to ask whether is possible to upload the library path import setting of the project, in order to avoid these reference errors which are driven me a lite bit crazy. Thanks in advance! Cross-compiling ibrdtn on eclipse
