If you configure the daemon via /etc/config/ibrdtn you have to start/stop it via /etc/init.d/ibrdtn start|stop.
Moreover, as it is mentioned here http://trac.ibr.cs.tu-bs.de/project-cm-2012-ibrdtn/wiki/download#OpenWRTrepo...
there should be a file /etc/ibrdtnd.conf but there is nothing for me there.
The manual is for Debian-based systems. On OpenWrt this configuration file is not there.
