What do you call messages ?
DTN nodes communicate by exchanging bundles. Theses can be seen as "messages" too, even though, as it is the bundle protocol, we prefer the term "bundle".
You can send and receive bundle (text, binary, files, whatever) using dtnsend and dtnreceived as Stephan mentionned.
You can find a short explanation of tools like dtn(send|receive) on the ibr-dtn webpage: list of tools

Hi, you can either use the (Java) Api or use dtnsend/receive as well:
  $ echo this is a testmessage | dtnsend dtn://foo/bar
What do you mean by songs? MP3-files are files as well and can be sent
like any other file ;)
