In the current relased API there is no method to request custody transfer. However, I added it right now to our development repository and the requestCustodyTransfer() method will be there in the next release.

But since there a bunch of holes in the specification of custody transfers, the bundle daemon will not accept custody for any bundle you sent to it. Until we have an idea about how to set the retransmit timer or who should accept custody and what about replicating routing schemes, we're can not implement the full custody functionality.
