It's tcpdump that uses libsmi, not libpcap.

It's not a good idea to `fix' modules of the test suite. ;-) The test suite is written (and in no way complete) to check whether the parser detects errors correctly.

It is also concerned with the test suite. Don't worry too much about it. You have successfully built the library and applications. Thus, you should be able to build tcpdump. -- !!
