I have quite a lot of articles in my libsmi mailbox. Yours is one of them. It won't get lost, no matter whether I move it to the TODO file or not. :-) I hesitate to make any promises whether/when we will provide specific changes. So, you could enhance the chance to see default values in xsd output, if you would submit a patch yourself. :-)
