Re: [libsmi] libsmi release 0.4.3 and switch from CVS to SVN

Hi Juergen,
The current 0.4.3 cannot be built as-is using msvc 6.0. Several changes are needed. I have been able to build it with the native w32 msvc 6.0 after making some changes. I will email diffs when ready.
Best regards,

Some time has passed and numerous bugs have been fixed, improvements have been added, primarily to a number of smidump drivers, IETF and IANA MIBs have been updated and added since the last release of libsmi. Thus, today I switched to release 0.4.3
As usual, you can find it at
http://www.ibr.cs.tu-bs.de/projects/libsmi/ ftp://ftp.ibr.cs.tu-bs.de/pub/local/libsmi/
Those running Win32 boxes who are looking for a binary distribution can check out the following
ftp://ftp.ibr.cs.tu-bs.de/pub/local/libsmi/WIN32/libsmi-0.4.3.zip
This zip file contains cross-compiled Win32 binaries. The binaries are supposed to work (at least earlier versions have made some Win32 users happy) but they come with no fancy setup. The search paths are hard coded and you better stick to them. You can of course send patches to read some of this hard coded stuff out of the registry - but note that I require that things must be possible to cross-compile as I do not have a native Win32 compiler (and do not need/want one).
