Thanks to all who produced scli - it's a rather useful tool. Is it possible to incorporate "friendly" port-names in some of the output? Setting IpAddress

Hello all. I have a problem with setting the IpAddress with scli. Accordingly to the RFC: --- The IpAddress type represents a 32-bit internet address. It is represented as an OCTET STRING of length 4, in network byte-order. --- And I'm using the inet_aton function to convert the string representation. But tcpdump says that the value is not 4 bytes length, and agent sets the random value. The pieces of code follows: struct in_addr addr; inet_aton(argv[2], &addr); ... if (info && info[idx]) { info[idx]->sipProxyTableOutAddr=&addr; sss_dgw_mib_set_sipProxyTableEntry(interp->peer, info[idx], SSS_DGW_MIB_SIPPROXYTABLEOUTADDR); } Where argv[2] is string representation (i.e. "127.0.0.1") of IP address. info contains previously retreived value. Custom mode. Retreiving the table.

Hello all. I have the following problem: When I'm trying to retreive the custom table from my SNMP agent the NULL is returned. code: get / set the values from one MIB

Hello, could someone tell me how an incoming message (GET message or SET message) will get / set the specific values (in the varbind-list) in the MIBs (e.g. the view-based-mib) (in this code)? https://trac.eecs.jacobs-university.de/projects/scli/browser/trunk/snmp/g_d… I only see the g_receive_message function and the prepareDataElements function (depending from the snmp version) - but which function will be called after the prepareDateElements function to update the MIB or to read out the MIB values (if it was a GET message)? thanks best regards Bernd

problem connecting some 3com switches

Hello Prof. Juergen Schoenwaelde, I saw the site http://www.ibr.cs.tu-bs.de/projects/scli/ while searching for how to probe for a network printer a friend of mine owns an hp2600n. Although there is not the latest 0.31 version for ubuntu but do have 0.2.12-2.2 which is quite an old version although that is a different topic which I would be taking up with people concerned in my community. I saw the documentation part & it seems to have not been updated for quite some time. Can u please update that so potential users like me who want to make a strong case for updation to 0.31 can do. More importanly if u can cancel whatever has been done with some time stamps it would make things easier for us to know as well as any updates in the screenshots. I did see that 0.31 is/was in debian experimental for some-time atleast. Both the screenshots as well as the documentation as well as news is 2001 and 2002. Hi, just wanted to let you all (and Juergen :-) know that scli is featured as "Debian Package of the Day" on that new website http://debaday.debian.net/2006/12/27/ I admit for being the responsible writer and take the blame for all mistakes that may be contained therein. Thanks to Debian's brilliant package tracking websites, I was even able to discover a 0.3.0 (pre?)version of scli that did even escape my attention on any other known resource (this mailing list, the scli website)... Apple airport patch

Hi, The patch is attached. I had problems with the mib[1] - it uses PhysAddress as the index to a couple of the tables, but since PhysAddress has no length associated with it the code generated by smidump breaks. I worked around it by replacing PhysAddress with MacAddress from SNMPv2-TC, but if there's a way of saying to smidump that in this mib PhysAddresses are 6 bytes, that would be better. The code will leave some memory unfreed on exit - since wireless clients can come and go the number of entrys in the clients table will change, so keeping a simple mapping of table[i] <-> stats[i] for the monitor mode won't work, so i used a GHashTable instead. Early on i tried writing generic table display code, since the _attr[] stuff tells you all you need to know in order to render a table, but since the table structs have all the column names as variables you have to write table specific code.
