problem connecting some 3com switches
Hello, I have some 3com switches (several 3300 and two 4050). I can use scli 0.2.12 with them: # scli switch08 E=mc^2 -c "show bridge ports"
PORT INTERFACE TYPE SPEED NAME DESCRIPTION 1 101 ethernetCsmacd 1g RMON Port 01 on unit 1 2 102 ethernetCsmacd 1g RMON Port 02 on unit 1 3 103 ethernetCsmacd 1g RMON Port 03 on unit 1 4 104 ethernetCsmacd 1g RMON Port 04 on unit 1 5 105 ethernetCsmacd 1g RMON Port 05 on unit 1 6 106 ethernetCsmacd 1g RMON Port 06 on unit 1
.... and so on, but scli 0.3.1 seems unable to connect them:
# ./scli --snmp-debug=5 switch08 community -c "show bridge ports" 100-scli version 0.3.1 (c) 2001-2007 Juergen Schoenwaelder request 0x814a058: new request 0x814a058: timeout callback invoked request 0x814a058: deleted request 0x814ace8: new transp. udp/ipv4: send 42 bytes to switch08.lngs.infn.it:161 request 0x814ace8: queued request 0x814ace8: timeout ... transp. udp/ipv4: send 42 bytes to switch08.lngs.infn.it:161 request 0x814ace8: timeout ... transp. udp/ipv4: send 42 bytes to switch08.lngs.infn.it:161 request 0x814ace8: timeout ... transp. udp/ipv4: send 42 bytes to switch08.lngs.infn.it:161 request 0x814ace8: final timeout ... request 0x814ace8: timeout callback invoked request 0x814ace8: dequeued request 0x814ace8: deleted 500 SNMP communication error (timeout) 301 no association to a remote SNMP agent
(This output is from a 4050 with fw version 4.22)
Any help, suggestion, workaround? Thanks, bye, Nazzareno Taborgna ==================================================================

The easiest thing to figure out what is going on is to capture the packets being generated and to see how they differ. It seems like scli is trying a few times and then giving up...
