Hello,
I'm trying to disable port number 1 on a HP ProCurve 2524 switch with this command:
# scli -v 2c -c 'set interface status 1 down' 192.168.1.244 control
It works by opening ports 1, 10-19 and 21. It seems that I'm not able to control the <regexp> mentioned in the manual.
Can someone give me a pointer as how to specify port number 1 and none other? My angle is Perl, but it seems that I'm not able to apply any of my knowledge as inferior it may be :-/
scli version is 0.2.12 on Debian Sarge (stable).

Or maybe it's just late and tea is just not at well suited for desktop-survival as coffee is ;-)
It seems that the solution is: # scli -v 2c -c 'set interface status ^1$ down' 192.168.1.244 control
But I still think that a simple pointer to a definition of the regexps used with scli would be nice.

I agree. In fact, the current SVN version of scli has a command
set scli regex
which allows to specify which type of regex you want. The default setting is "extended", which means POSIX extended regex. You can also turn case insensitive matching on or you can go to non extended regex. Perhaps it would also be handy to be able to turn regex off (but this just came to my mind and is not implemented). The man page says a bit about regex in the description of this new command, but while reading the text right now, I am not sure this is very understandable. So improvements can be made.
