[stools] smidump -f stools ?
Hi,
Want to play with stools and some enterprise MIB (xylan/alcatel). I cannot find a libsmi version with "smidump -f stools" support. Is it really needed, or can one use the netsnmp fromat ?
Thanks
Johan

Try libsmi 0.2.14, which has experimental stools support. ftp://ftp.ibr.cs.tu-bs.de/pub/local/libsmi/libsmi-0.2.14.tar.gz

The stools formated output works out of the box.

The netsnmp format is generating agent stubs for the NET-SNMP package. The stools format is generating manager stubs. Originally, I thought that those two things could be combined, but I then realized that doing so makes things more complex for management application writers.
The latest libsmi distribution (0.2.14) contains an stools version. I will sonn release another stools snapshot which is then in sync with the stools driver in the 0.2.14 libsmi distribution. Note however that the stools driver changes frequently as we further develop the stools package. So if you really want to stay current, you should probably access the anon CVS versions of libsmi and stools. (I hope that the stub generator interface stabilizes at some point in time - but we are definately not there yet.)
