## MOTIVATION AND RATIONALE
Social good has a big impact on society. Indeed, the term “social good”
refers to something that benefits the general public, and at the same time,
it is something that reflects and respects their wishes, being ‘from’ the
people. The social good can be envisioned as global citizens uniting to
unlock the potential of individuals through collaboration to create a
positive societal impact. Much interest has been produced in the last
years, and new proposals and technologies have been considered. Among them,
Blockchain, distributed ledger technologies, and decentralized technologies
in general, such as IPFS, have been considered to improve all the aspects
of the social good. Blockchain and decentralized technologies have had a
big impact on the world. In particular, Blockchain technology has been
applied to several fields, such as e-health, IoT, media, etc. The big
question around the definition of this track is: “How does the blockchain
have a big impact on the social good? And how can decentralization improve
the ICT industries?”. The track manages the possible application of
decentralized technologies in research fields that are included in the
global scope of the social good. These address sectors such as agriculture,
supply chain traceability, energy, health, property rights, and digital
identities, ranging from a global to a local scope. More recently, in the
realm of civic participation, civil society initiatives and social
economies, blockchains are being tested to implement collaborative models:
social finance and local currency schemes, peer-to-peer production and
exchanges, decentralized organizations management and decision-making,
purpose-driven tokens that incentivize pro-social behaviors, etc.
Examples of applications involving considerable experimentation and
innovation are complementary and community currency systems. These systems
aim to support humanitarian aid initiatives, self-organizing local
community development, and basic income projects. These involve novel
tokenization mechanisms based on smart contracts that require further
investigation and discussion. While blockchain's revolutionary potential
has been largely tested (in the financial domain, in particular),
applications in social domains and for addressing sustainability challenges
have been explored far less.
This special track aims to explore and debate the main concepts and
implications of blockchain technology, how it can be a driver of
innovation, and its positive effects on our societies, industry, legal

Call for Papers - ReNeSys 2025
*****************************************************************************************
*The 1st Workshop on Resilient Networks and Systems (ReNeSys 2025)*
(in conjunction with the NetSys 2025)
September 1-4, 2025
Ilmenau, Germany
https://www.resilient-worlds.org/renesys/
https://kuvs.de/netsys/2025
*****************************************************************************************
Resilience, as an emerging research field, is strongly required as a core
property of all
kinds of critical systems. It describes the ability of a system to absorb
shocks,
recover promptly, adapt to maintain comparable functionality, and continuously
improve by learning from such incidents. With the increasing complexity and
heterogeneity
of critical networks and systems, the scope of resilience is going beyond
traditional
fault tolerance and security paradigms and encompasses emerging
requirements such as
ultra-reliability, deterministic performance, trustworthiness, and privacy.
This also
necessitates advanced resilience measures, incorporating artificial
intelligence (AI) and
machine learning (ML) models, quantum security, real-time and distributed
reconfiguration
methods etc.
Accordingly,*the Workshop on Resilient Networks and Systems (ReNeSys 2025)*
targets new
approaches for design, analysis, and evaluation of next-generation
resilient networks and
interconnected systems. It invites contributions for advanced techniques to
overcome complex
resilience challenges and to achieve various resilience objectives like
dependability,
security, robustness etc. The workshop spans diverse domains, including
wired and wireless
communication, Internet of Things (IoT), vehicular networks, cyber-physical
systems,
energy-constrained/intermittently powered systems, mobile edge computing,
distributed
operating systems, software-defined systems and beyond.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
* Theoretical resilience frameworks and models
* Complex failure and threat models, and emerging resilience

Betreff: [InternetTC] [ACM/IEEE SEC'25]: Call for papers Tenth ACM/IEEE
Symposium on Edge Computing (SEC)
Datum: Wed, 16 Apr 2025 20:58:17 +0000
Von: Anna Brunström <anna.brunstrom(a)KAU.SE>
An: itc(a)COMSOC.ORG
*Consider submitting your paper to the ACM/IEEE Symposium on Edge Computing
(SEC). Still two months left to prepare your papers.*
SEC is a forum for top researchers, engineers, students, entrepreneurs, and
government officials to come together under one roof to discuss the
opportunities and challenges that arise from rethinking cloud computing
architectures and embracing edge computing. SEC takes a broad view of edge
computing and solicits contributions from many fields of systems practice
that embrace any aspect of edge computing.
Topics include, but are not limited to:
* communication infrastructure (e.g., cellular, satellite, LoRa) for edge
computing
* distributed ledger technology (DLT) & blockchain at the edge
* socio-economic aspects of edge computing
* edge computing as an enabler of 5G applications and services
* edge computing infrastructure (e.g., IoT hubs) and its sustainability
* emerging applications at the edge, such as the metaverse, smart
environments, and remote sensing
* the role of edge computing in sustainable computing
* interfaces between edge, cloud, and HPC systems
* geo-distributed analytics and indexing on edge nodes
* hardware architectures for edge computing and devices
* monitoring, measurements, management, and diagnosis in edge computing
* networking, e.g., from clients to the edge, and from the edge to the cloud
* programming models and toolkits
* resource management, scalability, and reliability for edge computing
* security and privacy issues
* storage and data management technologies for edge computing
* techniques and algorithms for machine learning, federated learning, and
AI at the edge
* edge AI technologies (e.g., copilots, language models, and foundation
models) in developing, optimizing, and generalizing edge systems and
their configurations
* edge-enabled applications, such as in vehicular, enterprise, and
manufacturing systems
Submissions that include systems implementation and their performance
evaluation are particularly encouraged.
The review process will be double-blind. Papers will be judged on novelty,
significance, clarity, relevance, and correctness. A best paper award will
be presented to one or more outstanding papers from the conference. We also
welcome short Position Papers on any of the above topics, which will be
judged separately from papers in the research track of the conference. By
submitting a paper, you agree that at least one of the authors will attend
the conference to present it. Papers must be in PDF format and must be
submitted through: https://sec25.hotcrp.com/ <https://sec25.hotcrp.com/>.
No email submissions will be accepted.
For detailed submission instructions and other details please see:
https://acm-ieee-sec.org/2025/call_for_papers.php
<https://acm-ieee-sec.org/2025/call_for_papers.php>
*Abstract and title registration: June 13, 2025
Paper submission: June 20, 2025*
The conference will take place on December 3-6, 2025 in Washington, D.C., USA.
