=== Mobility Modeling and Performance Evaluation (MoMoPE) 2010 ===
About MoMoPE
The First International Workshop on Mobility Modeling and Performance
Evaluation (MoMoPE) 2010 will be a one-day workshop, held in conjunction
with the 6th International Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing
Conference (IWCMC) 2010, will be held on June 28 - July 2 2010, in France.
Call For Papers
The demand for mobility modeling and performance evaluation has been
dramatically increasing in the areas of vehicular, autonomous, and cognitive
communications. Especially, mobile protocols and mobility service used in
such areas have posed various challenges to the academic and industry. These
challenges require effective mobility modeling methods to obtain precise
performance evaluation results that allow to design new mobile protocols,
mobility service, and robust solutions. Research results in mathematical,
simulation, and experience on mobility modeling and performance evaluation
studies are welcome. The purpose of MoMoPE is to bring together the academic
and industry working on different aspects related to mobile computing in
efforts to highlight the state-of-art research on mobility modeling and
performance, exchange ideas, and explore new research directions. Mobility
modeling and performance evaluation studies in the following topics are
welcome (but are not limited to):
* Performance modeling of sensor mobility in wireless/mobile networks
* Performance modeling of human mobility in wireless/mobile networks
* Performance modeling of vehicular mobility in wireless/mobile networks
* Performance modeling of mobility protocols used in wireless/mobile
networks
* Performance modeling of location management and handover used in
wireless/mobile networks
* Performance modeling of bandwidth allocation and resource scheduler
used in wireless/mobile networks
* Performance modeling of security protocol and access control
management used in wireless/mobile networks
Important Dates
* Submission Deadline: 15 December 2009
* Author Notification: 15 March 2010
* Camera Ready Submission Due: 1 April 2010
* Author Registration Due: 1 April 2010
Submission Information
Prospective authors are invited to submit original technical papers

Call for Papers
Special issue on: Telecommunications Software Engineering: Emerging
Methods, Models and Tools
Telecommunications software engineering involves the application of
engineering methods in the development of telecommunications software
through the usage of systematic and disciplined qualitative and
quantitative studies. Software engineering, as such, is amongst the
younger generation engineering disciplines, which is still far from
reaching the stage of maturity. Software processes are more complex than
traditional manufacturing processes and are very poorly understood.
Telecommunication systems are very complex and the application of not so
well development software engineering processes for the development of
these systems adds to the complexity. Lots of works are undertaken
worldwide on telecommunications software engineering. As new and
attractive telecommunications technologies emerge every year, new software
engineering methods, models and tools are required for supporting the
development and the maintenance of the increasingly complex systems. This
Special Issue will dedicate to cataloguing excellent works on all phases
of telecommunication systems software development including requirements,
design, development, testing, maintenance, supporting algorithms and
protocols. Telecommunication topics of interest include, but are not
limited to:
• Optical communication systems
• Cellular communication systems
• Broadband wireless access systems
• Wireless Internet
• Software defined radio
• Bluetooth technology
• Ultra-wide band radio
• Emerging Ad Hoc and Sensor Networks
• Wireless Mesh Networks
• IEEE 802.11/802.20/802.22
• Emerging issues in 3G and 4G wireless networks
• Multimedia over emerging wireless networks
• Underwater sensor networks
• Very low-powered sensors
• Cooperative wireless communications
• Multi-hop relay wireless communications
• Emerging wireless network security issues
• Wireless telemedicine and e-health

SPECIAL ISSUE REQUIREMENTS FOR AUTHORS
Computers and Mathematics with Applications
Mathematical and Computer Modelling
In order to continue the publication of professional quality journals, the
items listed below are the minimum requirements for accepting manuscripts
for Special Issues submitted for publication in Computers and Mathematics
with Applications and Mathematical and Computer Modelling. As a Guest
Editor, we ask you to be sure the manuscripts meet these requirements when
they are submitted to us for typesetting/formatting/publication, and
advise your authors that we shall not be able to typeset/format their
manuscripts until these requirements are fulfilled. We suggest that you
use the following as a checklist before forwarding the issue to us.
____ Title and Preface: Submit the complete formal title, Guest Editor(s)
name(s) and address(es) as they are to appear on the title page. Remember
to include with the issue manuscripts a Preface/Foreword, and any
dedication or other standard pages that are to be used.
____ Table of Contents: Submit a list of all manuscripts in the order they
are to appear in the issue. Mark the list "Table of Contents". Make sure
the corresponding author is marked for manuscripts with more than one
author. Authors should not appear as co-authors for more than two
manuscripts (excluding Preface and Dedication).
____ Addresses: Please make sure all manuscripts are submitted with
current and complete mailing and email addresses for all authors and
co-authors. Also, please keep us updated on any address changes.
____ Electronic Versions: Either a TEX, AMS- TEX, LaTEX, or Word file for
the text of the manuscript is necessary along with a pdf file of the final
version of the article. The digital file (TeX or Word file) must match the
pdf file exactly. Any discrepancies detected between the two files will
cause delays in the publication of the special issue.
____ Abstracts: For consistency, check to make sure all manuscripts begin
with an abstract.
____ Keywords: All papers should include up to five keywords.
____ Figures & Graphs: An electronic version of each figure is required.
Each figure or graph should also appear in the pdf file of your
manuscript.
The preferred format for figures and graphs is PostScript (ps) or
encapsulated PostScript (eps). From with the TEX file of each paper, we
import the eps figures. We will try to work with any electronic format
that we receive. However, this may cause a delay, and at our discretion,
we may require authors to re-submit the illustrations in ps or eps format,
compatible with Adobe Illustrator. Each figure or graph should be a
separate file.
____ References: References should be numbered sequentially in the order
of their appearance in the text, not alphabetically. References should be
cited in the text in square brackets. If the references in your manuscript
are not in this format, you will be asked to redo them, causing a
publication delay for the entire special issue.
Meeting these minimum standards will ensure better quality and faster
publication of your Special Issue. We appreciate your cooperation.

AIMS AND SCOPE
Vehicle Infrastructure Integration (VII) has been growing rapidly in
importance in the past few years. Even despite the global economic
downturn that has hit the car industry hard, research continues in this
area, as new technical challenges have evolved that demand research and
development. Industry players like the automobile companies, and
government agencies, like the US Department of Transportation, are
investing heavily in research and development in VII. Technologies and
applications for VII are rapidly emerging, and there is an critical need
to bring together researchers & engineers, academia and industry,
standards, private and public sectors, to exchange ideas.
This workshop is intended to serve as a forum and bring together the
researchers and engineers in both academia and industry to exchange
ideas, share experiences, and report original work about all aspects of
vehicular communications, VANETs, information dissemination, road
safety, ITS, emergency services, etc.. The main purpose is to promote
discussions of research and relevant activities in the design of
architectures, algorithms, and applications for inter-vehicular
communication environments. This workshop will also address some leading
standardization efforts (802.11p, p1609, TIA TR48, etc.). Work in
progress is also welcome.
Key industrial players (GM, Toyota, Telcordia, BMW, etc.) will be

CALL FOR PAPERS
International Journal of Autonomous and Adaptive Communications Systems
(IJAACS)
http://www.inderscience.com/browse/callpaper.php?callID=1254
Special Issue on:
"Ubiquitous Deployments of Body Sensor Networks"
The rapid growth in medical sensing technologies with low power requirements
and wireless data transmission has led to ubiquitous deployments of body
sensor networks (BSNs), i.e. networks of sensors worn on or implanted in
a person, sensing vital readings and transmitting these (wirelessly) to a
base station. Applications are often in the healthcare domain, for keeping
an eye on one’s health status or for monitoring chronic conditions (diabetes,
asthma, cardiovascular issues). This data can then be forwarded to clinicians,
carers or hospitals in real time (especially important for alerts).
In the past, existing wireless sensor networks (WSN) have been modified as
BSNs for usage in biomedical applications. However, traditional WSNs suffer
from various limitations when they are deployed in such applications, including
restricted bandwidth capabilities and limits in terms of computational power
(especially considering the amount of data that is being read, processed and
streamed or transmitted). Therefore, modified WSN frameworks alone are often
deemed to be infeasible for BSN applications, and substantial research is required
to overcome these and other limitations by taking into account the requirements
for biomedical sensing applications. As these BSNs become ubiquitous - monitoring
not just chronic conditions but a person’s everyday health - new challenges in
terms of secure communications, interoperability and device size become evident.
This special issue will publish high-quality papers that describe how various issues
in the deployment of ubiquitous body sensor networks have been addressed by
researchers and practitioners in this domain. Distinguished papers accepted and
presented at UBSN 2010, after further revisions, will also be included in the issue.
Subject Coverage:
Some of the topics that may be described include but are not limited to:
* Interoperability
o BSN systems must ensure seamless data transfer across standards such as Bluetooth
or ZigBee to encourage information exchange, plug-and-play device interaction, etc.
The definition of standards for data exchange may be required.
* Scalability
o Systems should be scalable, ensuring efficient migration for a patient or person
across networks and offering uninterrupted connectivity for those both wearing and
monitoring UBSNs.
* Privacy
o Transmission of data within UBSNs and between UBSNs and other networks must be both
secure and precise, e.g. to avoid a patient’s data being corrupted or accidentally
including another patient’s readings.
* Security
o Some consider BSN technologies as a potential threat to their privacy (or even safety),
if applications could be tampered with beyond their intended exclusive medical usage.
Social acceptance is key to UBSNs finding wider application, but extensive testing and
reviews can aid with such reassurances.
* Devices
o The sensors used in UBSNs should be light, low in complexity, have reduced form factors,
and be easily reconfigurable.
* Storage
o Storage devices are needed to facilitate remote storage and viewing of patient data via
the Internet, as well as allowing access to background processing algorithms and analysis
tools.
