The need for efficient merging of the wired and wireless infrastructure as well as the new multimedia services and applications of next generation networks call for novel network architectures, protocols and traffic-related mechanisms. WWIC is addressing research topics such as the design and evaluation of protocols, the dynamics of the integration, the performance tradeoffs, the need for new performance metrics, and cross-layer interactions. The goal of the conference is to present high-quality results in the field, and to provide a framework for research collaboration through focused discussions that will designate future research efforts and directions. In this context, the program committee will accept only a limited number of papers that meet the criteria of originality, presentation quality and topic relevance. Proceedings will be published by LNCS Springer. Selected best papers will appear in a journal special issue. The workshop is a platform to propose new positioning algorithms and location sensing techniques, including new techniques and studies into the properties of existing technologies. This includes enhancements of singular systems (e.g. positioning in cellular telephone networks such as GSM; positioning in WLAN environments; etc.) as well as hybrid systems (e.g. integration of Global Navigation Satellite Systems with Inertial Position Systems). Improvements in sensor technology, integration and sensor fusion may be addressed either on a theoretical or on an implementation level. The genesis of nearly all kinds of dynamic location information is mobility. Mobility - in all its facets (user mobility, device mobility, session mobility etc.) - requires advances in wireless network technologies and devices, development of infrastructures supporting cognitive environments, as well as discovery and execution frameworks for location-aware services. Thus we invite you to submit proposals and/or experience papers in the area of mobility and its mentioned adjacencies. Location is also one of the primary aspects (such as time, identity and activity) of all major context models. Context-awareness, a generalization of location-awareness, is another driver of the pervasive computing paradigm. Well designed context modeling and context retrieval approaches are key accessors to the context in any context-aware system. Thus we emphatically invite submissions dealing with issues of modeling and retrieval of context. This may also include integration aspects into service platforms and frameworks to provide location- and context-awareness to services. Personal and confidential data such as the location of the user stored on mobile devices and the location of the mobile device itself have profound implications for personal information privacy. Thus the area of protecting privacy, privacy-oriented location-aware systems, and how privacy affects the feasibility and usefulness of systems may be addressed. Example topics include privacy enablers in pervasive surveillance and sensing environments or location anonymity techniques. Scenarios and applications for location-aware computing may be surveyed and evaluated, including existing applications and aiming forwards future applications, to facilitate the deployment and everyday use of location-aware computing systems in workplaces, homes and public spaces. Submission Guidelines: Authors are requested to submit full papers in Adobe PDF format. All submissions will be peer-reviewed by the international program committee and additional expert reviewers from relevant research communities. To date, some airline companies announced Internet connectivity support during commercial flights and this trend is expected to accelerate and cover most if not all flights. This issue is focused on modeling, analysis, and simulation of network mobility support protocols. We solicit papers presenting original and unpublished work including, but not limited to the following topics: * Modeling and Analysis of Network Mobility o Modeling, analysis and simulation of mobile router o Protocols for route optimization o Mobility issues inside a mobile network o Mobile IPv6 extensions for route optimization o Nested mobile networks o Multihomed mobile networks o Operational issues to deploy mobile networks o Auto-configuration for mobile networks o Mobile router support on cellular phone platforms * Services in the Networks that Move o Service advertisement and discovery protocols in networks that move o Specifications nad models of services for network mobility o Encryption and authentication in service access for network mobility * Security Issues in Network Mobility o Security analysis of present network mobility support protocols o Applications of AAA and EAP to network mobility o Interaction with security-enhanced modules in other layers (vertically) or other middle boxes (horizontally) Prospective authors should follow the IEEE J-SAC manuscript format described in the Information for Authors. Authors MUST submit their draft manuscripts through the EDAS peer review website, together with a short abstract (approximately 150 words) in the EDAS website form. Please note potential authors should create their own accounts through the EDAS peer review website before submitting manuscript(s). EDAS will accept manuscripts in PDF format only. There will be one round of reviewers and acceptance will be limited to those papers requiring only moderate revisions.
