Call for Papers für die Teilkonferenz
Automotive Services (AS2010)
der Multikonferenz Wirtschaftsinformatik (MKWI) 2010,
Automotive Services 2010

CALL FOR PAPERS
DWSAN4CIP 2009
International Workshop on Dependable Wireless Sensor and Actuator Networks
for Critical Infrastructure Protection
http://www.wsan4cip.eu/dwsan4cip
November 10, 2009, Madrid, Spain
Organized by EU FP7 project WSAN4CIP
OVERVIEW:
It is hard to overestimate the role of ICT systems in operational cycles of
modern industry and
life supporting infrastructures. ICT control systems are used to
continuously monitor the state
of industrial processes and status of critical infrastructures. Over the
last few years Wireless
Sensor and Actuator Networks (WSAN) technology appeared as an ideal
technological building block
to improve the reliability and availability of ICTs in critical operational
environments. On the
other hand WSANs themselves become part of a critical infrastructures and
processes. Whenever
another layer of complexity is added to a system, this opens new
possibilities for system failures,
misuse or malicious attacks. The critical prerequisite for WSANs to be
adopted in performance
critical applications is their dependability, i.e. the ability of a system
to deliver specified
services to the user.
It is, however, by far not trivial to make WSANs dependable for variety of
applications in different
operation environments and having different performance requirements. For
DWSAN workshop we solicit
original contributions aiming at achieving dependability of WSAN technology
on different layers.
Experiences from real-life deployment of dependable WSANs, application
dependent WSAN design methodologies,
dependable MAC, network and transport protocols, general issues of
reliability, security in dependable WSANs
are some of the key research topics to be discussed during the workshop.
The goal of the workshop is to present high-quality results in the field,
and to provide a framework
for research collaboration through focused discussions that will designate
future research efforts and
directions. In this context, the program committee will accept only a
limited number of papers that
meet the criteria of originality, presentation quality and topic relevance.
Workshop Topics
Topics of interest to DWSAN 2009 include
(but are not limited to) the following:
* Real life experience from deployment of wireless sensor networks in
critical applications
* Methodologies for assessment of performance requirements
* Methodologies for systematic design of WSAN communication architecture
* Application of control theory for cross-layer optimization of dependable
communication protocols for WSAN
* Dependable MAC protocols
* Dependable routing protocols
* Dependable transport protocols
* Intelligent energy and QoS management
* Fault tolerant middleware for WSANs
* Operating systems for dependable WSANs
* Security services
Proceedings
This year DWSAN4CIP offers only Fast Track publication in workshop
proceedings.
Authors are invited to submit their contributions as a two pages extended
abstract
in double column IEEE format. Up to 10 best contributions will be invited to
submit full papers for publication in electronic workshop proceedings.
Revised and extended versions of the most outstanding papers will be
suggested
for publication in the International Journal of Critical Infrastructure
Protection (Elsevier).
Important Dates

==================================================================
Call for Papers
The 3rd IEEE International Workshop on Opportunistic Networking (WON-10)
to be held in conjunction with The IEEE 24th International Conference
on Advanced Information Networking and Applications (AINA-10),
Perth, Australia, April 20-23, 2010
http://nrl.iis.sinica.edu.tw/WON10/
==================================================================
Aims and Scope
---------------
With the explosive deployment of mobile wireless devices recently,
Opportunistic Networking is becoming an increasingly popular area in
networking research, in which the assumption of having end-to-end
paths between the source and the destination is relaxed. Such networks
fall into the fields of mobile ad-hoc networking (MANET) and
delay-tolerant networking (DTN).Opportunistic Networks enable user
communication in an environment where disconnection and reconnection
are common and link performance is extremely dynamic. They are very
suitable to support the situation where network infrastructure has
limited coverage and users have "islands of connectivity". By taking
advantage of device mobility, information can be stored and forwarded
over a wireless link when connection 'opportunities' arise (e.g. an
appropriate network contact is met). In this view, traditional
Internet connectivity can be considered as a special case of
connection opportunity. With numerous emerging applications,
Opportunistic Networks allow a huge number of devices to communicate
end-to-end without requiring any pre-existing infrastructure and are
very suitable to support pervasive networking scenarios.
Topics of Interest
-----------------
Original papers addressing applications and architecture, systems
and protocols design, development and analysis, in all areas related
to Opportunistic Networking are solicited. Papers that bring out
interesting and novel ideas at an early stage are favored over
highly-polish journal-style results. Topics of interest include, but
are not limited to:
* Advanced technologies for enabling opportunistic communication
* Architectures for opportunistic networks
* Applications for opportunistic networks
* Biological and social models for opportunistic communication
* Middleware services in opportunistic networks
* Dissemination and replication techniques for opportunistic networks
* Network and resource management techniques for opportunistic networks
* Trust and cooperation in opportunistic networks
* Security issues in opportunistic networks
* Transport and reliability issues in opportunistic networks
* Routing issues in opportunistic networks
* MAC layer issues and physical layer for opportunistic networks
* Simulation and modeling of Opportunistic networks
* Tools and techniques for designing, analyzing and building
opportunistic networks
* Opportunistic networks testbeds and measurements

During the past years, the International Conference on Networked Sensing
Systems (INSS) has established itself as THE scientific event where academic
and industrial experts from the areas of sensor systems, wireless networks,
and sensor network applications come together. The INSS provides a forum to
hear about the latest developments in these areas, to exchange ideas, and
to start up collaborations within these fields and between industry and
academia.
INSS 2010 invites the submission of regular, short, and industry papers.
All
submissions will be peer-reviewed and evaluated on the basis of
originality,
significance of contribution, technical correctness, and presentation.
Papers
submitted must not be under simultaneous review for any other conference,
journal, workshop, or other publication. All accepted papers will be
published
from IEEE Explore. Authors are required to attend the conference to
present their work.
Regular/Short Paper Track
Regular papers must be 4-8 pages long (two-column format) and include an
abstract of 100-150 words. Short papers must be 2-4 pages long
(two-column format)
