HotMobile's small workshop format makes it ideal for presenting and discussing new directions or controversial approaches. HotMobile particularly look for position papers containing highly original ideas in the following topic areas, although papers describing other challenges unique to or exacerbated by mobility are also welcome: * Operating system and distributed system support for mobile computing * Coordination, aggregation, and spontaneous interaction of mobile devices * Novel applications, environments, and devices supporting mobility * HCI issues related to mobile computing * Security and privacy of mobile computing * Management, configuration, and deployment of systems supporting mobility Paper should be submitted through submission site: http://athena.smu.edu.sg/hotmobile12/. Submissions should contain 6 or fewer U.S. letter pages in PDF format, including all references, figures and tables. This announcement solicits original submissions of high-quality research papers on "wireless on-demand networks" that provide novel insights on protocol and network design, modeling, performance evaluation, profitability models, energy efficiency, QoS models and mechanisms, practical implementations, service level aspects, and Internet integration of wireless networks. The award includes a framed certificate. The authors of Best Paper Award will be recognized in the conference. Manuscript submissions Submitted papers must not have been published elsewhere and must not be currently under review by another conference or journal. Authors are invited to submit double-column full (up to 8 pages) and short papers (up to 4 pages) as a PDF file in IEEE format with a font size no smaller than 10pt. Short papers should present future research directions and ongoing work with visionary, innovative ideas; accepted short papers will populate poster sessions at the conference and will be included in the conference proceedings. Submission implies the willingness of at least one of the authors to register and present the paper. Papers (including those destined to special sessions) must be submitted through the EDAS system. Conference proceedings will be included in the IEEE Xplore library. Further submission instructions will be published on the conference web site.
