Special Section in IEEE Transaction on Industrial Informatics (Journal
Impact Factor: 5.430): "Security, Privacy, and Trust for Industrial
Internet of Things"
The Theme: Internet of Things (IoT) is heterogeneous networks provide
ingenious services and applications in several fields, adopting IoT in
the industry awards the Industrial IoT (IIoT) technology. IIoT has come
to be an extensive trend in the business and commerce development as it
helps organizations to attain extreme achievements with reduced
expenses. However and regrettably the promising IIoT technology lacks of
many security measures that make it vulnerable to many sorts of
cyberattacks, for example and not limited to, node capture, side-channel
analysis, eavesdropping, man-in-the-middle and distributed denial of
service attacks. Moreover, the IIoT networks need challenging
requirements to achieve the desired security and reliability.
Unfortunately, traditional security solutions and even regular IoT
solution cannot address the Industrial IoT security flaws due to the
different nature of the IIoT. An integral part of IIoT is the
Operational Technologies (OT), such as SCADA, needs to have a deep
security examination. Present SCADA technology are distributed and
networked over open internet protocols, which make it susceptible to
cyber-attacks, an enhancement of the Modbus, Profibus, Fieldbus, and
Hart protocols with digital authentication should promise,
confidentiality, integrity, availability, and dynamic group management
for OT. IIoT context has precise necessities when it comes to security
and reliability, such as; i) Bounded and fast response is required to
attain the business continuity. ii) Reliability, unlike the regular IoT
that operates in domestic areas, Industrial IoT systems operate in
hazardous areas with safety implications that may threaten lives. iii)
Scalability is needed to, dynamically and remotely, add and revoke
sensor nodes efficiently. iv) Power consumption is very important factor
to be carefully considered especially with ambient power and
battery-driven devices. v) Security is a serious issue for all sensory
applications; however, industrial usages need more robust and reliable
procedures due to their safety implications. All these constrains must
be considered during the security protocols design process. As
encryption is the cornerstone of information security, authenticated
encryption has been getting a lot of attention in the IIoT context to
attain integrity and confidentiality. Fast and lightweight encryption
plays a great role in achieving the adapted security and privacy for
IIoT; however, lightweight encryption still needs to study new
techniques, which must be formally verified over the modern
cryptography. On the other hand, key management in terms of
authenticated key agreement with key confirmation (AKC) protocols need
to be obtainable in a new customization for the IIoT context to consider
fast rekeying and nodes addition and revocation.
This Special Section aims to attract pioneer and novel work of Security,
Privacy, and Trust for the Industrial Internet of Things including novel
and innovative security mechanisms that are resilient to the current

IEEE PerCrowd 2019 - 2nd International Workshop on Context-Awareness for
Multi-Device Pervasive and Mobile Computing
Co-located with IEEE PerCom 2019, March 11-15
March 11, 2019 - Kyoto, Japan
http://percrowd.cs.helsinki.fi <http://percrowd.cs.helsinki.fi/>

SCOPE AND OVERVIEW
__________________
Multi-device computing is an emerging research area that is potentiated
by the large number of smart devices that proliferate every aspect of
our daily lives. By detecting the multi-device context for harnessing
collaborative and opportunistic resources in proximity, it is possible
to reduce the cost of executing computational tasks in the constrained
resources of smart devices, and to diffuse the presence of smart devices
beyond their existing computing isolated behavior.
The impact of multi-device computing has found many applications in
everyday settings, for which they were not initially conceived, such as
continuous multi-device experience for users, formation of proximal
infrastructure at the edge network, multi-device remote control systems,
multi-device sensing and multi-device autonomous interactions, among
others. The goal of PerCrowd 2019 is to explore the impact of
multi-device context in self-organizing and opportunistic computing.
More in detail, The goal of this workshop is to explore the use and
effect of contexts on multi-device settings, whose computational
behavior can be propagated within communities of devices for improving
their energy consumption and performance.
Original papers addressing theoretical, practical, and technical aspects
of opportunistic and self-organizing multi-device communities are
solicited. Papers describing prototype implementations and deployment of
such applications and systems are particularly welcome. The submission
of informative surveys of the state of the art as well as position
papers on controversial issues is also encouraged. Topics of interest
include but are not limited to:
- Context-aware multi-device systems and applications, e.g.,
multi-device sensing, sampling and computation
- Resource extension of pervasive and mobile applications, e.g., screen
sharing, multi-device interfaces and multi-device control systems
- Opportunistic multi-device context modeling via crowdsensing
- Algorithms to reduce task complexity via optimal distribution in
multi-device setups
- Pervasive computing applications harnessing opportunistic multi-device
formation, e.g., location, proximity, underutilized times, etc.
- Self-organizing community construction and evolution
- Usage models for multi-device computing, e.g., incentive models,
stability models, decision making models, and privacy models.
- Users experiences towards multi-device systems and applications
- Infrastructure, architectures, and platforms for multi-device systems,
as well as, emerging applications for multi-device environments.
- Integration of multi-device systems on the move with proximal
infrastructure, e.g., Edge, Cloudlet and Fog - Lessons and experiences
of evaluating context-awareness for multi-device systems and applications

*Instructions for paper submission*
-------------------------------------------------
All paper submissions must be written in English and must be formatted in
standard IEEE 2-column format. The mandatory IEEE template in Microsoft
Word and LaTeX format can be found at the IEEE templates page. Only Adobe
PDF files will be accepted for the review process. All submissions must be
made electronically through EDAS.
We will consider three different categories of papers:
- *Full papers* should describe novel research contributions and are
limited in length to eight (8) printed pages (10-point font) including
figures, tables, and references. Papers exceeding 8 pages will not be
accepted at EDAS, nor reviewed at all.
-
*Short papers *should be more visionary in nature and may report on work
in progress without finished results. They are meant to present novel
perspectives, so as to foster discussion about innovative directions and
new points of view. They are limited to at most four (4) pages including
figures, tables, and references, but might in many cases be even shorter.
Accepted short papers will be included in the proceedings and there will be
given (a shorter) time for oral presentation at the conference.
Please note that the full paper and short paper categories target different
kinds of contributions. Papers submitted to a category will NOT be moved to
a different category: a paper will either be accepted for the category
where it has been submitted, or it will be rejected. Full papers will not
be “downgraded” to short papers. Therefore, please be sure to carefully
assess for yourself prior to submission which is the most suitable
submission category for your paper, and to make sure that the presentation
in the manuscript is well suited to the aims of this category.
-
*Posters* are especially suited for presenting controversial research
directions that may generate discussion, or promising ideas not yet fully
validated through complete extensive evaluation. IEEE VNC 2018 will also
include a demonstration session for researchers to showcase their latest
prototypes with media, models, or live demonstrations. The demo session
will be co-located with the poster session to ensure maximum visibility and
a close interaction with the conference audience.
We also encourage the authors of the demo papers to include a link to a
short 2-min demonstration video for the reviewers to facilitate the
evaluation of the quality of the demonstration proposal. If a video is
included, we ask that it be hosted on public video hosting service (e.g.,
Vimeo, YouTube, or similar) to ensure the anonymity of the reviewers. The
videos of accepted demonstration proposals will be advertised on the
conference website.
Poster/demo papers should be 2-page papers following standard IEEE
2-column format using 10-point font. All paper submissions must be written
in English. The title of the paper should begin with either "Poster:" or
"Demo:". Optionally, a poster paper submission can also include an
electronic copy of the poster.
*Important Dates*

In
Sensornetzen, Internet-of-Things, Cyber-Physical-Networks, ... kommunizieren
In
schon seit etliche Jahren umfangreiche Forschungen in diesem Umfeld
Herausforderungen. Zudem bestehen sehr breite und unterschiedliche
Anwendungsbereiche, die oftmals spezielle Anforderungen an alle einzelnen
Komponenten stellen.
