CALL FOR PAPERS - HCI4SCE 2008
First International Workshop on Human Computer Interaction in
Safety Critical Environments (HCI4SCE 2008)
November 18-21, 2008
Graz University of Technology, Graz, Austria
http://usab-symposium.tugraz.at/
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The First International Workshop on Human Computer Interaction in
Safety Critical Environments (HCI4SCE) is held in
conjunction with USAB 2008, November 18-21, 2008, in Graz, Austria.
Human Computer Interaction is one of the emerging areas of research in
the
recent years. The role of the user when designing interfaces is
regarded as
more and more important and the focus is shifted from designing
systems that
simply work to systems users can interact with, without an
extraordinary effort
of learning a system.
In security relevant areas like e.g. aviation, public transport and
public
safety, atomic power plants and control centers an error when using a
system can
cause damage to people and could be life-threatening. Here HCI is
regarded as an
important factor for designing and developing systems that are
customized to fit
the particular requirements of Safety Critical Environments.
HCI4SCE was established to provide a forum to scientists, engineers
and industry
to address recent research results, to present and discuss their ideas,
theories, technologies, systems, tools, applications, work in progress
and
experiences on all theoretical and practical issues and to elaborate
about the
research areas of HCI applied to Safety Critical Environments.
TOPICS OF INTEREST
The workshop program will include peer reviewed full papers around but
not
limited to the following topics:
Safety Critical Environments and HCI
- The role of the human in SCEs

8th Wuerzburg Workshop on IP:
Joint EuroNF, ITC, and ITG Workshop
"Visions of Future Generation Networks"
(EuroView2008)
http://www3.informatik.uni-wuerzburg.de/ITG/2008/
on July 21st and 22nd 2008 in Wuerzburg/Germany
OVERVIEW
The focus of this year's symposium is on "Future Internet Design
and Experimental Facilities", and in particular on current efforts
towards a future Internet. This comprises overviews of selected
IETF working groups as well as current and future national and
international collaborative projects. We would like to stimulate
discussions on future Internet applications, future wireline and
wireless Internet architectures, and experimental facilities.
The workshop's tradition and intention are to foster the
communication among researchers from industry, universities, and
other research institutes. To that end, keynotes by outstanding
experts, invited sessions on the main topic, and technical talks
about current research will be presented. In addition, room for
poster presentations will be provided. The workshop is the
continuation of a series of successful events previously held in
Wuerzburg. It is technically and financially sponsored by the
the Network of Excellence EuroNF (within the European Union
Framework Programme 7), the International Teletraffic Congress
(ITC), and the German Information Technology Society (ITG).
The following invited sessions are confirmed
* Future Internet Activities in FP7
* The Future Wireless Internet
* Future Internet Projects
* 100GET: Towards 100 Gigabit Ethernet
* German Activities in IETF
Several international experts from Korea, Japan, and USA have
acknowledged to present their visions.
We seek for further technical oral and poster presentations
addressing research issues for the future Internet. They should
communicate identified research issues, early insights, and they
should strive to foster discussions among participants.

is well accessible via airport Frankfurt/Main and another 90
minutes by railway. We have reserved a limited number of hotel
rooms for workshop participants until June 10. Note that several
other congresses take place in Wuerzburg during these days and it
will be difficult to find accommodation after that date.

CALL FOR PAPERS
=============
9-th International Symposium on Autonomous Decentralized Systems
March 23 - 25, 2009
Athens, Greece
http://www.ece.upatras.gr/isads2009/
SPONSORED BY: IEEE, IEEE CS, EIC, IPS, SICE
SCOPE
--------
Opportunities and challenges for realizing highly complex, efficient and
dependable
business and control systems have been steadily increasing, driven by
the continuous
growth in the power, intelligence, adaptiveness and openness of
technologies applied
in computing, communication and control systems. Dynamically changing
social and
economic situations demand the next-generation of systems to be based on
adaptive
and reusable technologies and applications. Such systems are expected to
have the
characteristics of living systems composed of largely autonomous and
decentralized
components. Such systems are called Autonomous Decentralized Systems
(ADS). The
International Symposium on Autonomous Decentralized System (ISADS) has been
successful in the past sixteen years to address these challenges. While
ISADS 2009
will focus primarily on advancements and innovations in ADS concept,
technologies
and applications related to networked embedded systems, other topics are
also
encouraged. The ISADS 2009 Technical Program Committee invites papers and
proposals of workshops and panels on the topics of the symposium, which
include,
but are not limited to:
- Computer and communication architectures
