Previous events were held in Paris, France, during May 2000, and Pisa, Italy, during May 2002. Networking 2004 will take place between May 9-14, 2004 in Athens, Greece, the same city that will host the Olympic Games a few months later. The cover page must contain an abstract of about 150 words, 3-5 keywords, name and affiliation of author(s), as well as the corresponding author's e-mail, telephone number, fax number and postal address. Because of the size limitation on the final manuscript, and to ensure that the reviewed paper and the final version have a similar size, please take into consideration that the final manuscript should be approximately 5000 words including tables and figures (each table and figure corresponds to 200 words). To make it easy to adhere to the final formatting standard, use as reference a 12-page manuscript formatted with the Springer-Verlag LNCS formatting standard, http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html. PAPERS PUBLICATION All submissions will be reviewed by the program committee. Accepted papers will appear in the conference proceedings, published by Springer-Verlag in the LNCS series, http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/index.html. Authors of selected papers will be invited to submit an extended version of their papers, to be considered for publication in special issues of international Journals, like Telecommunications Systems, or Computer Networks. Maennel - Technische Universität München N.N. - N.N. 17.09.2003 - 18.09.2003 An der Universität Karlsruhe (TH) ist geplant, einen Workshop zum Thema "Inter-Domain Routing" (IDR) zu veranstalten. Das rasante Wachstum des Internets hat in jüngster Zeit zahlreiche Fragen bezüglich der Skalierbarkeit, Stabilität und Konvergenz der heutigen Inter-Domain-Routing-Architektur aufgeworfen. Es wird teilweise befürchtet, dass aktuelle Lösungen (BGP) in einigen Jahren den Anforderungen nicht mehr gewachsen sind. Aus diesem Grund werden nun zunehmend Anstrengungen unternommen (u.a. in der IRTF) zur Erforschung zukünftiger Routing-Protokolle und Architekturen. Ein Hauptanliegen des Workshops ist es, Forscher, Betreiber und Hersteller zur Diskussion von Ideen und Erfahrungen bezüglich dieser Thematik zusammenzubringen. Für diesen IDRWS werden Vorträge gesucht. Insbesondere sind praktische Aspekte (z.B. betriebliche Erfahrungen und Beobachtungen aus ISP-Sicht) sowie neuartige Konzepte und Untersuchungen aus dem akademischen Umfeld willkommen. Gefragt sind Präsentationen aktueller Probleme des IDR, sowie entsprechende Lösungsansätze oder Entwicklungen in Richtung zukünftiger IDR-Verbesserungen bzw. neuer Routing-Architekturen. Es wird gebeten, einen kurzen Abstract (~150-500 Wörter) über den geplanten Vortrag einzureichen. Die Einreichung eines vollständigen Papers ist _NICHT_ notwendig.
