********************************************************************************
The Conference on Networked Systems (NetSys 2019) is a biennial event
that provides an international forum for engineers and scientists in
academia, industry, and government to discuss recent innovations in the
realm of networked systems. The NetSys conference proceedings and will
be submitted for inclusion to IEEE Xplore.
NetSys 2019 is co-organized by GI KuVS and ITG. Included in the
conference is the annual 1-day ITG expert symposium "Future of
Networking"s (Zukunft der Netze, ZdN), with presentations organized on
an invitation-only basis. NetSys 2019 will also feature a session on hot
topics in networking, separate workshops, tutorials, and a PhD forum.
NetSys solicits submission of high-quality, original scientific work
presenting novel research on the wide range of networked systems.
The NetSys 2019 poster and demo sessions showcase works-in-progress in
an informal setting. The topics of interest are identical to the
research topics in the NetSys 2019 conference call for papers. We
strongly encourage student and industry submissions. The NetSys 2019
Poster and Demo committee will review all posters and demo proposals.
Authors of accepted papers in NetSys 2019 may not submit the same work
to this call.

Smart spaces, such as smart cities, are proliferating into a massive
scale, thereby, IoT data, services and
applications are being pressed to move to the Cloud. IoT Cloud
integration has been recently extended from
the core of the network to the edge of the network (i.e., Fog Computing)
to address better mobility support,
location-awareness and low latency. Developing applications using cloud
and fog computing resources introduces
many challenges with respect to programming, networking, and service
abstraction and distribution.
In particular, in large-scale IoT applications with massive number of
services, the way to model, develop
and distributed services at device-, fog-, and cloud-levels is a top
priority design challenge in this area.
Topics include but are not limited to:
- Fog computing distributed architectures and frameworks
- Programming models and abstractions for Fog
- Dynamic programming models for Fog
- Fog-level task and service modeling and distribution
- Large-scale deployments and Fog
- Distributed resource management models for Fog
- Cloud and Fog integration
- Middleware for Fog infrastructures
- Fog mobility
- Performance (low latency and scalability)
- Heterogeneity and Interoperability of Fog devices

ACM/IEEE ICCPS 2019 CALL FOR PAPERS
The 10th ACM/IEEE International Conference on Cyber-Physical Systems
April 16-18, 2019 in Montreal, Canada, part of CPSWeek 2019
http://iccps.acm.org/2019
====================================================================
Overview: As digital computing and communication become faster, cheaper,
and available in packages that are smaller and use less power, these
capabilities are increasingly embedded in many objects and structures in
the physical environment. Cyber-physical systems (CPS) are physical and
engineered systems whose operations are monitored, coordinated,
controlled, and integrated by computing and communication. Broad CPS
deployment is transforming how we interact with the physical world as
profoundly as the world wide web transformed how we interact with one
another, and further harnessing their capabilities holds the possibility
of enormous societal and economic impact.
ACM/IEEE ICCPS is the premier single-track conference for reporting
advances in all CPS aspects, including theory, tools, applications,
systems, test-beds and field deployments. The conferences focuses on the
core science to develop fundamental principles that underpin the
integration of cyber and physical elements, as well as on the
development of technologies, tools, architectures and infrastructure
for building CPS systems, highlighting the design, implementation, and
investigation of CPS applications. Application domains include (but are
not limited to): transportation, energy, water, agriculture, medical and
assistive technology, sensor and social networks, robotics, smart
cities, ecology, and supply-chains. Among the relevant research areas
are security, control, optimization, machine learning, game theory,
mechanism design, mobile and cloud computing, model-based design,
verification, data mining / analytics, signal processing, and
human-in-the-loop shared or supervisory control.
All submissions must be in English. Only original papers that are not
submitted or published in other conferences or journals will be
considered. Manuscripts should have a main body with no more than 10
pages. Up to 2 additional pages of appendices may follow the main body
of the paper, within the same submitted .pdf file. The submissions must
be in the ACM two-column conference style, US Letter (8.5 inch x 11
inch) paper size, and 10pt text font size.

CALL FOR PAPERS
Fourth ACM/IEEE International Conference on
Internet of Things Design and Implementation (IoTDI)
April 15-18, 2019 (Montreal, Canada)
Colocated with CPS-IoT WEEK 2019
http://conferences.computer.org/iotdi/2019/
------------------------------------------------------------------------
**Abstract registration: October 10, 2018 [11:59 PM GMT-12] (firm)**
**Paper submission: October 17, 2018 [11:59 PM GMT-12] (firm)**
The ACM/IEEE International Conference on Internet of Things Design and
Implementation (IoTDI) is a premier venue on IoT. To reflect the
interconnection of IoT with both cloud computing and cyber-physical
systems, IoTDI is co-located in even years with IEEE IC2E and in odd
years with CPS-IoT WEEK. In 2019, IoTDI will be held for the fourth
time, and will be part of CPS-IoT WEEK 2019.
A confluence of technological advances marks the advent of a new era.
World data volume is growing at an unprecedented pace, much of it from
embedded devices. Smart cities are expected to grow, fed by millions of
data points from multitudes of human and physical sources. Cyber-attacks
grow more nefarious, bringing down physical systems. Social networks are
becoming ubiquitous, offering information on physical things. The
separation between cyber, physical, and social systems is blurring.
Collectively, these developments lead to the emergence of a new field,
where the networking and physical realms meet. It is the field of the
Internet of Things (IoT). This conference is an interdisciplinary forum
to discuss challenges, technologies, and emerging directions in system
design and implementation that pertain to IoT. This conference invites
researchers and practitioners from academia, industry and government,
and accepts original, previously unpublished work on a range of topics
related to IoT.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Analytic foundations and theory of IoT
- Reliability, security, timeliness, and robustness in IoT systems
- Novel protocols and network abstractions
- Data streaming architectures and machine learning analytics for IoT
- IoT-motivated cyber-physical and Industrial IoT (IIoT) systems
- Novel quality requirements and their enforcement mechanisms
- Cloud back-ends and resource management for IoT applications
- Edge and fog computing
- Personal, wearable, and other embedded networked front-ends
- Social computing and human-in-the-loop issues
- Applications domains (e.g., smart cities, smart health, smart
buildings, smart transportation)
- Deployment experiences, case studies & lessons learned
- Evaluation and testbeds
Accepted papers of particular merit will be invited to submit an
extended version to ACM Transactions on the Internet of Things (TIOT).
Joint statement from the IPSN and IoTDI Program Chairs:
IPSN and IoTDI are collaborating to create new synergies, and also
exploiting their CPS-IoT WEEK bi-annual co-location. Prospective authors
are thus strongly encouraged to consider these guidelines when
submitting papers:
- Contributions of an embedded nature and applying to network segments
from the IoT gateway to field devices should be submitted to IPSN.
Examples include localization, low-power wireless networking, and
embedded data processing.
- Contributions with an end-to-end perspective or applying to network
segments from the IoT gateway to the cloud should be submitted to IoTDI.
Examples include cloud data processing, edge computing, and systems
covering multiple network segments.
The TPC chairs of both conferences may agree to move a submitted paper
from one to the other if they see a better fit, subject to the authors’
consent. The final decision about where to submit, and therefore what
program committee will review the work, ultimately rests with the authors.
General Chairs:
Klara Nahrstedt, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA
Olaf Landsiedel, Chalmers University, Sweden
Program Chairs:
Gian Pietro Picco, University of Trento, Italy
Prashant Shenoy, University of Massachusetts at Amherst, USA

form) in any conference, journal, or other archived (e.g., in the ACM
Digital Library or the IEEE Xplore) proceedings of an earlier workshop.
The authors must also guarantee that no paper that contains significant
overlap with their submission is under review for any other conference
or journal or archived proceedings of a workshop during the IPSN review
period.
Only exceptions to these rules are workshops without archived
proceedings, technical reports, notes, public websites such as ArXiv, or
blogs that are not peer-reviewed. The information on where else the
paper appears must, however, be provided on the submission form; the PC
chair will make this information available to the reviewers if it
becomes necessary to ensure a fair review. This policy will be
explicitly conveyed to the reviewers. If you are in doubt, please
contact the PC chairs for clarification before submitting your paper.
Finally, please also note that the ACM Plagiarism Policy covers a range
of ethical issues concerning the misrepresentation of other works or
one's own work. Violation of any of these conditions will lead to rejection.
********Response Process********
As in previous years, IPSN will also elicit a review and response
process. After the initial review, the program committee may request a
short response from selected papers for additional clarifications. The
authors will get a short time window of roughly 24 hours to respond.
Participation in the response process is not mandatory.
****Joint statement from IPSN and IoTDI****
The two conferences are collaborating to create new synergies, also
exploiting their CPSWEEK bi-annual co-location. Prospective authors are
thus strongly encouraged to consider these guidelines:
- Contributions of embedded nature and applying to network segments from
the IoT gateway to field devices should be submitted to IPSN. Examples
include localization, low-power wireless networking, and embedded data
processing.
