ACM/IEEE Third International Conference on Cyber-Physical Systems (ICCPS)
http://www.iccps.org/
April 17-19, 2012
Beijing, China
Part of CPS Week - http://triton.towson.edu/~cpsweek
Sponsored by the
ACM Special Interest Group on Embedded Systems (SIGBED)
IEEE Technical Committee on Real-Time Systems (TCRTS)
Cyber-physical systems are systems with a tight coupling of the cyber
aspects of computing and communications with the physical aspects of
dynamics and engineering that must abide by the laws of physics. The
objective of this conference is to be a primary forum for reporting
state-of-the-art advances and innovations in theoretical principles,
tools, applications, systems infrastructure, and testbeds for
cyber-physical systems.Contributions should emphasize the cross-cutting,
system-wide themes. Sectors of applicability include, but not be
limited to, transportation (automotive, aerospace, marine, rail), SCADA
systems (electricity generation including smart grids and the like,
other utilities), smart physical infrastructure (smart bridges,
buildings and highways), energy efficiency (energy-aware buildings),
environmental monitoring, defense systems, intelligent medical devices,
tele-operations and robotics.
Submissions must report results from original research and not have been
submitted to or published in other conferences or journals. Submissions
must be a maximum of 10 pages, in 2–column format, and use font sizes of
no smaller than 10 pt. Instructions for submissions: http://www.iccps.org.
Topics of interest include (but are not limited to) the following:
• Theoretical foundations of CPS
• Modeling, Analysis and Synthesis Techniques
• Architectures for Cyber-Physical Systems
• Building blocks for Cyber-Physical Systems
• Systems Abstractions, Services and OS Support
• Evaluation approaches and metrics
• Novel CPS applications
• Detailed Case Studies

> Incredible improvements in nanotechnologies have enabled the vision of nanonetworks composed of a number of nanomachines communicating with each other for a specific nanoscale application. Unlike conventional communication systems, communicating at the wireless nanoscale brings along new challenges. For example, new frequency bands have to be utilized ‚in the order of the Terahertz‚ due to the size of nanomachines and, thus, their antennas; also nanonetworks require a large set of functions to be performed including addressing, information propagation, medium access control. However, traditional solutions may not be applied due to very strict constraints in terms of computing/communication capabilities characterizing nanomachines.
>
> This special issue aims to capture the state-of-the-art by soliciting original (unpublished and not currently under review) and novel contributions on wireless communications at the nanoscale in areas including (but not limited to) the following:
>
> * Architectures, topologies, and algorithms for wireless nanoscale
> communications and nanonetworks
> * Modeling and analysis of wireless nano communications
> * Wireless nanoscale communications with nano-optics and nano-photonics
> * Information theoretical approaches to wireless nanoscale communications
> * Nano components/structures for wireless communications (e.g., graphene,
> nanoribbons, carbon nanotubes (CNT))
> * Wireless nanoscale ad hoc and sensor networks
> * Wireless quantum communication networks
> * Applications for wireless nanoscale communications
> * New wireless nanoscale communication paradigms

PerNEM 2012 Call for Papers
The Second International Workshop on
Pervasive Networks for Emergency Management
(In conjunction with IEEE PerCom 2012)
http://san.ee.ic.ac.uk/pernem2012/
Lugano, Switzerland, March 19-23, 2012
Scope
-----
After a successful first PerNEM workshop in 2010, we are delighted
to announce a second version of the workshop in conjunction with
IEEE PerCom 2012.
The events that took place on 11 September 2001 have brought to the
forefront the unique challenges that occur during a crisis, which
require effective sensing, communications and decision making with
demanding time constraints in highly dynamic environments. Pervasive
systems address these requirements by providing decision support to
rescuers and evacuees, guaranteeing communications and collecting
information that is vital for planning and organising the emergency
operation. This workshop focuses on pervasive networked sensing and
decision making, both wired and wireless, geared towards emergency
management. PerNEM 2012 addresses leading edge research in these
areas through the use of sensing, communication, decision support,
simulation tools and modelling methods with focus on system design,
optimisation and experimental evaluation.
Topics
------
PerNEM will bring together contributions which include but are not
limited to the following areas:
* Networked sensors for emergency management
* Pervasive middleware for emergency management
* Architectures and Systems for Emergency Management Applications
* Decentralised algorithms for pervasive systems
* Self-aware and self- adaptive network design and evaluation

ACM MobiOpp 2012
Third International Workshop on
Mobile Opportunistic Networks
http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/conference/mobiopp2012/
sponsored by ACM SIGMOBILE
March 15-16, 2012
ETH Zürich, Switzerland
After the successful ACM MobiOpp 2007 and ACM MobiOpp 2010, the
organizing committee is excited to invite you to take part in the
Third International Workshop on Mobile Opportunistic Networks that
will be held March 15-16th, 2012 in Zurich, Switzerland at ETH.
Opportunistic Networking is one of the emerging communication
paradigms in wireless mobile communications. Opportunistic networks
are commonly defined as a type of networks where communication is
challenged by sporadic and intermittent contacts as well as frequent
disconnections and reconnections, and where the assumption of the
existence of an end-to-end path between the source and the destination
is relinquished. The aim of MobiOpp 2012 is to provide a high profile,
leading edge forum for researchers and engineers to present their
latest research in the field of mobile opportunistic networking. In
particular, MobiOpp 2012 strongly encourages submissions of
experimental work.
Topics of interest include (but are not limited to):
- Opportunistic, Delay-tolerant and Hybrid Networks
- Mobile Urban Sensing and Crowdsensing
- Novel Architectures, Middleware, Prototypes and Testbeds
- Routing, Dissemination and Caching in Opportunistic Networks
- Analysis of Opportunistic Protocols
- Security, Trust, Privacy and Cooperation in Opportunistic Networks
- Social-aware Opportunistic Networking
- Anti-censorship/surveillance opportunistic communications
- Opportunistic Applications (e.g., opportunistic social networking,
disaster and emergency situations, healthcare, communication
in remote regions)
- Mobility models for opportunistic networks
Submitted papers should be novel and should not be currently under
review, whether in shorter, longer, or the same form. We accept paper
submissions of **8 pages** and demo and poster abstracts of 2 pages at
http://edas.info/N11119
. Further formatting requirements are available on the website. The
workshop proceedings will be published by ACM.
MobiOpp 2012 is also featured on social networks. Follow us and get
