IEEE/ACM DS-RT 2020
Special Session on Simulation of Urban Traffic Management and ITS
http://ds-rt.com/2020/soiits_2020
*******************************************************
Information:
Submission Deadline: June 25th, 2020
Notification Date: July 30th, 2020
Session Chairs:
Dr. Anna Maria Vegni - Roma Tre University, Rome, Italy
Dr. Francisco Martínez - University of Zaragoz, Spain
Goals of the Session:
Nowadays, huge volumes of traffic data are available from various
sensors - and this special session focuses on the development of
simulations of transportation that take advantage of this data to
capture the complex nature of urban mobility. City planners and traffic
operators could use these simulations to explore transportation what-if
scenarios, e.g., investment in a new motorway. Driver-level simulation
(microscopic) has been shown to be the most accurate approach; however,
it is considered too computationally expensive to be deployed in
Intelligent Transportation products. Macroscopic simulations on the
other hand take into account spatial density and velocity on road
segments, and use various flow management methods to propagate the load
of vehicles to the next segments. The simplicity of the macroscopic
models makes it less expensive in term of processing power required than
more complex simulation models. However, they are not as accurate as
microscopic simulation models. This special session will explore new
advances in these two models (as well as hybrid models) of traffic
simulation. We are looking for contributions that describe novel
techniques, new applications, interesting applications etc.
List of Topics:
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
• Microscopic and macroscopic models;
• Discrete and Continuous models;
• Discrete and Continuous models;
• Traffic modeling and engineering;
• Mobility modeling and management;
• Automatic performance analysis;
• Measurement architectures and systems;
• Predictive performance models;
• Evaluation and Simulation tools;
• Validation through modeling and prototyping.
Paper Submission Guidelines:
Papers must be unpublished and must not be submitted for publication
elsewhere. All papers will be reviewed by Technical Program Committee
members and other experts active in the field to ensure high quality and
relevance to the conference.
At least one author of accepted papers must attend the conference to
present its contribution.
Papers should be written in English and should not exceed 10 pages,
double column, IEEE style including tables and figures. Note that the
regular paper size will be 8 pages, with the possibility to obtain up to
2 additional pages (total 10 pages) by paying a publication fee. A
template for IEEE Proceedings style (LaTeX2e and MS Word) can be found

8-11 March 2021 - Lübeck, Germany
https://netsys2021.org
Call for Extended Abstracts and Hot Topic Papers
------------------------------------------------
The conference on Networked Systems (NetSys 2021) is a traditional
biennial event that provides an international forum for engineers and
scientists in academia, industry, and government to present and discuss
recent innovations in the realm of networked systems.
NetSys21 is again a joint event organized by GI KuVS (GI, Communication
and Distributed Systems) and VDE ITG (VDE, Information Technical
Society). The NetSys21 technical program focusses on original
contributions in the area of networking and distributed systems and also
features invited presentations on hot topics in networking and
distributed systems, an industry session, separate workshops, tutorials,
posters, demos, an early work track, and a PhD forum. Also included is

Scope and Motivation
Ad hoc networks are highly adaptive and self-organizing networks that do
not rely on pre-existing communication infrastructure. Sensor and
actuator networks consist of multiple devices that are usually sparsely
distributed and need to operate in an autonomic and energy-efficient
manner. These networks have been the focus of interest of both academia
and industry during the past few years, given their large application
scope both in the military and civilian fields, ranging from
environmental monitoring, body area networks for healthcare, to
vehicular networks for road safety, and support for communications in
the battle field. This interest is ever increasing now, with the gamut
and diversity of sensors, devices and systems that are being connected
to the Internet of Things transforming the way we live and work and
making for smart cities and smart industries. Important challenges that
need to be addressed include spectrum allocation and technology
coexistence, autonomy and self-healing capabilities, and security, to
name just a few.

Betreff: [TCCC-ANNOUNCE] [ACM MobiHoc 2020] Call For Demos and Posters (Submission Deadline July 3, 2020)
Dear Colleagues,
Call for Demos and Posters - ACM MobiHoc 2020, October 11-14, 2020 (Online)
(https://www.sigmobile.org/mobihoc/2020/)
*Apologies if you receive multiple copies of this message*
We invite the submission of research demonstrations and posters from both
academia and industry to the poster and demo sessions of ACM MobiHoc 2020.
Demonstrations should showcase highly innovative research or prototypes,
platforms, and applications in the areas of mobile computing and wireless
networking.
The presenter should focus on how the demonstration supports innovative
research results or original applications and/or the value for the
community of the test platform.
We strongly encourage live demos based on novel applications in the domain
of pervasive computing, mobile computing and wireless systems.
We also welcome live demos reproducing evaluation results of papers
appearing in ACM MobiHoc 2020 or past editions, as well as other relevant
venues.
The poster session at MobiHoc 2020 will provide an excellent opportunity
for initial feedback on your early research results and give your ongoing
projects early visibility.
Your poster will help you concisely share late-breaking results or
work-in-progress on any topic related to mobile computing and wireless
networks.
Posters should provide a chance for in-depth research discussions and are
therefore especially well suited for obtaining feedback on ongoing research
or controversial ideas.
As MobiHoc 2020 will take place virtually, each poster/demo awardee will
have a slot in a virtual room, where the demo/poster can be presented.
Attendees will be given the opportunity to join the virtual room and visit
the virtual room.
The MobiHoc 2020 Demo and Poster committee will review all submissions to
select the accepted demos and posters.
All accepted submissions will be considered for Best Demo and Best Poster
Awards. A committee will decide the winner after evaluating all
presentations.
Please refer to the main conference introduction and CFP for the general
areas that are relevant to the typical MobiHoc audience.
*** *Demo and Poster Submissions and Selection* ***
A demo and poster submission requires an extended abstract with a maximum
length of 2 pages, including all figures and references. The extended
abstract should be formatted with the ACM style sheet. If you are using
LaTeX, you can make use of a simplified ACM conference template. The demo
and poster title should begin with "Demo: " and "Poster: ", respectively.
The demo submission should include the names, affiliations, and email
addresses of the authors, as well as the equipment that will be used for
the demo.
Authors of accepted demo proposals are encouraged to submit a companion
video clip showcasing their demo. Video clips should highlight the
technical contributions of the demo and be no more than 90 seconds in
length. Demo video clips will be posted on the conference website. Videos
can be submitted by including a link to the video along with the extended
abstract submission.
Demo and abstract proposals should be submitted through HotCRP. Accepted
demo proposals will be included in the conference proceedings and listed on
the conference website.
