Hi,
are there any limitations in the length of a MIB node??
I've called the function "smiGetParentNode" on a node which name is longer than 20 characters and got the answers SMI_DECL_UNKNOWN and SMI_NODEKIND_UNKNOWN. When I cut the name there were no problem.

The SMI says:
For all descriptors appearing in an information module, the descriptor shall be unique and mnemonic, and shall not exceed 64 characters in length.
So yes, there is an SMI limit. The libsmi implementation does not have an explicit limit as far as I remember, but there might be one imposed by the lex scanner. Anyway, I just created a MIB with an identifier much longer than 64 characters. Libsmi complained about the length (which is OK) but everything else worked as expected.

I guess there is some other problem. Make sure the descriptors are actually spelled correctly when they are referenced.
