*** Due to the still significant statutory lockdowns/travel restrictions
in-place due to the coronavirus outbreak, and following the guidelines
of the main conference, the organizing committee has decided that ACM
WiNTECH 2020 will be held as a virtual (online) workshop. We are going
to announce more details of the virtual event soon. Stay safe and
healthy! ***

Co-located with ACM MobiCom 2020---Research & Experimental Track
Technically co-sponsored by the US PAWR and Europe EMPOWER
programs
*****************************************************************************************
CALL FOR PAPERS
ACM WiNTECH has advanced to its 14th anniversary as one consolidated
tradition for bringing together an important number of researchers and
industry players working in different aspects of experimental wireless
communications and networking. The workshop will continue to serve as a
forum for sharing new ideas and experiences gathered across all
experimental aspects of wireless networks and systems, such as the
methodological and technical issues that have to be faced for defining,
running, controlling and benchmarking experiments on wireless solutions.
The workshop will also facilitate discussions of key unresolved
challenges and emerging problems in the field, such as new laboratory
methodologies, key real-life limitations of current and novel wireless
technologies that have emerged over the past few years (including
mmWave, 5G, IoT, VLC, wearables, underwater and aerial networking, and
SDN), as well as key challenges facing the wireless networking of the
future.
We are particularly interested in papers describing developments,
lesson-learned and new results obtained through platforms for at-scale
wireless research such as those in the US NSF Platforms for Advanced
Wireless Research (PAWR) program, the European 5G-PPP program under the
coordination of EMPOWER, and similar programs focused on large-scale
experimentation. The PAWR and EMPOWER programs technically co-sponsor
the workshop.
We are seeking original, previously unpublished papers empirically
addressing key issues and challenges in experimental wireless
networking. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
* Design and evaluation of wireless testbeds and prototyping platforms for:
mmWave and Terahertz communications and networking
Emerging PHY implemented on Software Defined Radio (SDR)
IoT and wearable computing
Visible Light Communications (VLC)
UAV, multi-robot and vehicular networks
Underwater/underground networks Software Defined Networking (SDN)
for wireless cellular networks (LTE, 5G)

*IoTSMS 2020 CFP:*
The Internet of Things (IoT) technology offers unprecedented opportunities
to interconnect human beings as well as Machine-to-Machine (M2M), whereby
sensors and networks allow all ‘things’ to communicate directly with each
other to share vital information allowing us to have an instrumented
universe where accurate data is readily available to inform optimal
decision making. The IoT is about to enable a range of new capabilities and
services far beyond today’s offerings. It will fundamentally change how
people go about their lives. According to Gartner, the number of objects
connected to the Internet is set to reach 20 billion by 2020. Cisco
estimates the number will be close to 26 billion objects by 2020. Others
believe the actual number will be even higher with the assumption that any
object with a simple micro controller and on-off switch will be connected
to the Internet in the near feature. The scale of the IoT is set to have a
major economic, social and environmental impacts; the intersection of which
forms the future sustainable growth. The IEEE Internet of Things: Systems,

=============================================================================
The 6th IEEE International Conference on Dependability in Sensor, Cloud,
and Big Data Systems and Applications (IEEE DependSys 2020)
14-16 December 2020, Fiji
http://cse.stfx.ca/~dependsys/2020/index.html
DependSys 2020 conference is the 6th event in the series of conferences
which offers a timely venue for bringing together new ideas, techniques,
and solutions for dependability and its issues in sensor, cloud, and big
data systems and applications. As we are deep into the Information Age,
huge amounts of data are generated every day from sensors, individual
archives, social networks, Internet of Things, enterprises and Internet in
various scales and format which will pose a major challenge to the
dependability of our designed systems. As these systems often tend to
become inert, fragile, and vulnerable after a period of running.
Effectively improving the dependability of sensor, cloud, big data systems
and applications has become increasingly critical.
This conference provides a forum for individuals, academics, practitioners,
and organizations who are developing or procuring sophisticated computer
systems on whose dependability of services they need to place great
confidence. Future systems need to close the dependability gap in face of
challenges in different circumstances. The emphasis will be on differing
properties of such services, e.g., continuity, effective performance,
real-time responsiveness, ability to overcome data fault, corruption,
anomaly, ability to avoid catastrophic failures, prevention of deliberate
privacy intrusions, reliability, availability, sustainability,
adaptability, heterogeneity, security, safety, and so on.

Betreff: [TCCC-ANNOUNCE] WiNTECH 2020, Call for demos and posters
My apologies for cross-posting
CALL FOR DEMOS AND POSTERS
WiNTECH continues its established tradition of hosting a demos and posters
session. We welcome proposals for demonstrations of novel work in wireless
network testbeds, measurement platforms and results, and innovative
prototypes. The areas of interest overlap those listed in the workshop Call
for Papers. The innovations showcased can be at any layer of the protocol
stack, from physical to application. However, we particularly encourage
demonstrations and posters that span over multiple layers. Wireless
networking must be the key topic. Posters may describe work in progress,
while the session will offer an excellent opportunity to receive feedback
and discuss early research. We emphasize that the demos and posters session
is not a forum to display commercial products.
As the workshop this year will happen virtually (online only) authors of
accepted demos and posters will be requested to submit a video of their
work that will be posted to the public on the workshop website.
Each submission must be a single PDF file no longer than two pages in
length (including figures, tables, and references), using two-column
format, 10-point size or greater and in PDF format following the same
formatting
guidelines <https://www.sigmobile.org/mobicom/2019/cfp.php> as the main
conference. Submissions must include the author name and affiliation. All
poster titles should begin with the keyword "Poster:" and all demo titles
should start with "Demo:". Papers must include the authors’ name and
affiliation. All submissions should be sent to
posters-wintech20(a)googlegroups.com
IMPORTANT DATES:
Submission deadline: 15 July 2020
Notification to authors: 22 July 2020

-----------------------
INTRODUCTION
-----------------------
As an emerged promising networking model, the Internet-of-Things (IoT) is a novel paradigm to interconnect a multitude of heterogeneous physical objects and devices. The IoT significantly provides an umbrella for a series of critical building technologies including wireless sensor networks (WSNs), fifth generation (5G) networks, and RFID. The philosophy of the IoT is to develop an intelligent, dynamic, large-scale, and coherent network framework for a wide range of applications and industries. Due to its potential advantages and merits such as high reliability, good scalability and intelligent capacity, the IoT has attracted great attentions and interests from both academia and industry.
As the earliest IEEE international conference on Internet of Things, the 2020 IEEE International Conference on Internet of Things (iThings-2020) will provide a high-profile, leading-edge forum for researchers, engineers, and practitioners from both academic and industrial communities to present state-of-the-art advances and innovations in theories, systems, infrastructure, tools, testbeds, technologies and applications for the IoT, as well as to identify emerging research topics and define the future of everything interconnect via cyberspace.
